Tik tok, tik tok, tik tok.
Was the only sound that filled the room as Aria stared at the clock on the plain white wall of her classroom, waiting for it to strike 3 so that she could go home.
She didn't care much for what the teacher was saying, she usually spent her classes doodling in her notebook or staring out of the window. It sounded much more appealing than listening to maths.
It was Friday, so Aria's mother-Camilla was taking her out for ice cream after school. Something they've done together for years as a treat for getting through the week. It was always Aria's favourite time of the week-getting ice cream and spending time with her mom.
Suddenly, a loud buzz rang through the halls, alerting the students that it was the end of the day. Aria packed her books into her bag and pushed her chair in before she carefully made her way out of the classroom.
She turned a corner only to be greeted by her mother, who was leaning on a wall and waiting for her, with her phone in hand.
With a smile plastered on the young girl's lips, she ran to her mother and wrapped her arms around her waist. "Mom!" She exclaimed.
"Hey, bean. How was your day?" Her mother knelt to her height, lovingly holding onto her arms.
"Good!" She smiled, swaying back and forth excitedly on her toes. "Can we get ice cream?"
"Is that even a question?" Her mother ruffled the young girl's brown locks.
They walked out of the school hand in hand excitedly, discussing Aria's eventful day.

Walking down the quiet streets of Westview, Aria ate her chocolate ice cream as it melted all over her hand. She peered her head into nearby store windows as she passed them, occasionally seeing a dress she thought was pretty.
Maybe one day she'll buy one when she has the money.
The duo jumped in the car, and Aria buckled her seatbelt. She was excited to get home. She couldn't wait until she could play with the kids next door and brag about getting ice cream.
Once the duo arrived home, Aria ran inside, dropped her bag and then ran back outside. "Mom, I'm playing with the kids next door!" She exclaimed before she shut the door behind her and made her way across the street.
She smiled politely at a red car that passed her with a soft nod. The woman inside looked familiar, but she couldn't quite place where she'd seen her.
She ran up to her friend's front door and knocked lightly three times before she took a step back and waited for somebody to answer.
Much to Aria's disappointment, nobody answered the door. She knocked once again for good measure, but just as she expected, Nobody came.
As she spun around on her feet to walk back home, she noticed that same woman who was in the car, was now standing in the middle of the foundation of a house.
She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion before she decided not to judge. Maybe, the woman wanted to buy the land.
She skipped across the road on her way back to her house, but before she knew it, she heard a loud and painful scream. She was quick to cover her ears and look for the sound, only to find the woman was now on the ground with... red stuff shooting out of her.
Before the young girl could make sense of what she was seeing, she felt a strong gust of wind push her over. She let out a shriek of surprise as her small frame flew to the concrete beneath her, and before she knew it, everything went dark.
The last thing she saw before she passed out was her hometown turning into a colourless scene. A scene straight out of a movie.
Little did the young girl know, the familiar woman was about to change her life forever.
AN: I apologise for how short this is, I just thought I shouldn't drag this out for too long since it's pretty much just a meet-cute for Aria and her mother, as well as how they ended up in the hex. I hope you enjoyed this, and I'd appreciate it if you voted and commented on this!!
