Aria woke up to the sound of birds chirping as the sunshine bled through the curtains of her '70s bedroom. Aria had fallen asleep while looking through her mother's case files for anything on Wanda Maximoff but after many excruciating hours, the young girl still couldn't find a thing.
Aria let out a sigh as she sat up, and let out a soft yawn. She looked around her bedroom, realising that it had changed for the third time, but it was starting to stop surprising her. She had gathered that every morning, she'd wake up to new surroundings.
The young girl scrambled out of bed and slipped the only outfit she had on before she made her way downstairs. However, the lights started flickering.
"What the hell?" She muttered to herself as the power went out.
The young girl slipped her shoes on and made her way outside. She'd seen her mom in the kitchen again, but she didn't want to upset herself again by checking on her.
Instead, she just called out to her. "Mom, I'm going for a walk!" She yelled through the house, trying to hide the sadness in her tone.
She slammed the door behind her as she made her way down the street. She had to find something, anything about what was going on.
The young girl was so focused on her thoughts that she didn't realise that a woman was riding by her on her bike.
Aria ran right into the bike, causing both her and the woman to fly to the ground. "Oh, my goodness, I'm so sorry!" Aria apologised, only to realise that the woman was the same woman from the day before—Agnes.
"Watch it, kid!" She said, as she picked her bike up and dusted her outfit off before she made eye contact with Aria, who was still on the ground, her knee bleeding.
Despite Aria taking all of this stress upon herself, she was still a kid at the end of the day. Her eyes welled up with tears as she held her knee. She bit her lip in an attempt to stop herself from crying and embarrassing herself.
Agnes looked at her with a bit of surprise, as if a kid close to her did the same thing, and as if she was confused as to why she was feeling this way.
"Uhm... are you okay?" She asked, trying to show sympathy, but it was clear to the young girl that she wasn't a sympathetic person.
Aria wanted to say yes and get up like nothing happened. She didn't see a point in letting a stranger know her feelings, but she felt something within herself that made her want to open up to this woman. To let her in, for some unknown reason.
Aria simply shook her head as a stray tear fell. The woman stood in front of her, looking toward a big yellow house, and back down at Aria as If she was contemplating something.
"Can you walk?" She asked, sighing slightly as if she made up the choice to help the girl.
Aria nodded her head in response, sucking in the snot from her nose and she wiped her cheek with the back of her hand.
"I'll bring you back to your mom, but I've gotta do something first," she said, still seeming like she didn't want to help.
"Please don't bring me back to my mom," Aria's voice cracked as if she was going to cry again.
Agnes only furrowed her eyebrows at the young girl. "Why not?" She asked, barely any emotion in her tone.
"Because everything's different. She's different," Aria bit her lip, holding back tears.
"...what do you mean, everything's different?" She asked, seeming extremely confused as if she knew what the girl was talking about, but wasn't sure why she knew about it.
