It took a while, but finally Yoongi was starting to understand the situation. How Melody had never had much contact with her family, other than her parents. How her family had wished it had all been different, and how, in a way, her father was all to blame.

Yoongi had been shocked to hear Melody's father knew all about her turning, but had left both his daughter and (now ex) wife in this miserable situation. He could understand what a relief it must have been for her to have her uncle by her side. Someone who not only was family, but also knew about this hybrid situation far better than she did.

And slowly, through Yoongi telling them about how everything had been at the house, Melody was starting to understand why Yoongi had seemed so short earlier that day. While she could vaguely imagine, she had no understanding of how panicked everyone had been. That they had been worried they would never see her again for the better part of a day longer than she had. How their company had been trying to get them to come back home and how they were starting to lose that fight.

"You've done good young one." Victor said as he proudly lay his hand on Melody's shoulder. "You've come a long way from the rough start you've had." Melody smiled, but her heart felt more like crying. Was this what it felt like to have a father figure be proud of you? The girl had never felt this way before.

After their long and emotional catching up, Melody and Yoongi decided it was time to head back up and re-unite with their friends.

"He was proud of me." Melody managed to whisper as she stared in a daze in front of her in the elevator.

"Yeah, so am I." Yoongi answered as he slowly patted the back of the girls head, stroking with his hand down to her nape. "We all are."

The warmth felt in Melody's heart felt like the opening of a door during Christmas, when the heat, smell of food and laughter of family would welcome you to step out of the snowy cold. At least, that is how she imagined it. Melody had only ever seen it in the movies.

"Look who's back!" Jimin greeted the couple as they entered the dorm.

"Good to see your human face again" Hoseok added.

"Tired of the kibble?" Jungkook joked.

Melody smiled, her uncle had been right, she had done well to find these friends.

"Are you finally up for breakfast?" Seokjin asked referring to the speed in which the girl had left earlier today.

"Yes please" Melody answered "We have a lot to catch up on." She added, wanting to hear all her friends had been through in the time she hadn't been able to be with her.
