The sewer stank more than you thought possible. You considered wrapping your mouth and nose with more web, thinking self-suffocation was a better alternative to what you were experiencing, but you thought otherwise. Smelling &^@# was better than dying in @#*^.

Silk was not far ahead of you, hunched in a bad posture as she stalked forward, making nearly no noise as she kept her focus forward. What was on her mind now? You learned a lot about her; now, you constantly guessed which part of her life she was fixated on. Her family? Her MANY JOBS? The ex-boyfriend you weren't aware of...

You closed your eyes, wishing you were back above ground as you. Then you feel something slide next to your leg. "Oh, boy," you murmur, glancing down expecting to see a turd, but instead you spot something silver instead, slightly reflective and... It took you a moment to realize that danger was probably slithering beside you. Silk comes to a stop and snaps back around. In an instant, you're both grabbed and yanked into the air– suspended upside down. You both regard each other and then sigh in unison. "Perfect."

How'd you two end up in the sewer system? For some reason, that's exactly where your mind shot to as you stared into the eyes of a metallic octopus, courtesy of Hydra, of course.

You and Cindy Moon had gone to her old neighborhood in search of answers or even clues on where her family could have possibly gone. Ten years had passed with her in that bunker, and now it was a scramble to find out the whereabouts of her parents and brother. Cindy had made a lot of remarks in your stroll.

"Mr Baker used to run this store, but it's his son now that takes care of it... Doesn't even recognize me."

Then you stopped at a nearby park, a place that her dad used to take her. He'd talk to her about a song every time they'd visit. "Slow down, Cindy. You move too fast," she said, recalling a phrase embedded in her brain.

It wasn't long before you talked to every neighbor and business in her old area. There wasn't a speck of evidence. Cindy looked disappointed with the whole experience, but she suddenly smiled and offered to stop by a place that serves her favorite pizza.

There's a brief walk towards that location before disappointment strikes once again. It's been closed. A sheet of paper remains there, taped to the window.

"Thank you for your business – BG."

A heavy sigh departs Cindy's lips. "Perfect," she says. She walks up to the window and looks inside. Her reflection stares back, but she looks right past herself at a table for two on the other side. You can see her mind's gears moving and shifting, moving memories to reply to another one– a memory you weren't a part of.

You nudge your shoulder with hers. "Sorry about your pizza place."

Cindy shrugs. "The last time I was here was with my then-boyfriend."

  "Oh?"

"Yeah..." she avoids your gaze and looks up at you to say something. "I don't think–"

Then, there was a massive crash behind you, and someone screamed. "Help! Please! Someone!!"

"HAIL HYDRA!" The beginning of your relationship with your sewer pal started here. Cindy Moon zips past you, launching a strike into the action already adorned by her costume. You duck into an alleyway and remove your clothes, concealing your "Midnight Spider" uniform.

As soon as you come out, you're proper into the action. An ATM flies inches above your head. Silk slides on the concrete to check on you. When she sees you're okay, you regard your new adversary... just in time to see him slither into the waterworks.
