The events of that night at the goblin fortress played in your mind over and over again as you tried to remember the finer details. Were there any even? Black Cat saying you were going to burn it to the ground? Yeah, she wasn't joking about that.

You waited for Cindy Moon to finish "talking" to Mockingbird. You weren't exactly as involved with the whole thing with Black Cat, but you still found yourself detained in a separate holding room. You weren't as in trouble as she was, but you still felt under arrest. "This sucks," you murmur, looking up at the camera in the room with you. You wonder if this was normal for superheroes... being caught in scandals and questionable ethics. Then you asked if you were in trouble. Was Silk in trouble?

Another agent was in here with you earlier, and he drilled you with questions, namely, what happened to Silk the night she became a goblin. You told him what you knew and that Black Cat injected an antidote into Silk, and it "cured" here within seconds... You had more than 2twobrain cells in your head, so you explained that Black Cat probably made it with the tech she'd been stealing. Despite that, they seemed to think you were still withholding information, so SHIELD got Silk inside a separate room, and... well, now you'd be repeating yourself.

You remembered Black Cat taking you into a lab. It was New York; still, there were no first-class tickets taking you to Florida, California, or someplace in the mountains in Montana. No, it was New York, and there was a giant lab funded and supplied by Black Cat. She was modest about it, despite it being worthy of something from Tony Stark or even one of Peter Parker's new laboratories.

Silk and Black Cat did a lot of talking. You were busy admiring the layout and remembering all the scientists' faces. There were close to a dozen inside here, and you felt remembering them would be necessary. Only you didn't. You didn't even get any of their names.

What surprised you during your visit was how chummy and made up the two seemed with each other. There was a lot of beef between the two girls, so you figured there would be verbal sparing and rude comments throughout the tour, but instead, Silk was being open and not as careful with what she told Black Cat, which kind of offended you. Still, you supposed she needed to get Black Cat's trust sooner than yours, so there was less sentimental concern here... It didn't make you feel any better.

"I was locked away for ten years. Alone." Silk said after leaving the main room. "Like I said... My background is one long story. But, enough about me. What about you?"

"What about me?" Black Cat said, putting her hands on her hips and glancing at you momentarily. What about him?"

"I'm just here for the ride," you shrug. "I saw New York City was looking for another spider and thought since I was good at climbing, I ought to live here instead."

She lifted her eyebrow and looked at Silk as she spoke again. "You were good once. Why did you cross the street to switch sides?"

Black Cat flicked her eyes on Silk and narrowed her gaze. "I didn't. I just realized there are no streets."

You and Silk glanced at each other, and you could tell she was thinking; you just weren't sure what about. You were hoping she wasn't considering hearing Black Cat's side of the story because that would lead down a road that wouldn't help her.

"I was just thinking about how much I was missing this place," you looked around at the bricks and pipes of the sewer. The stink was almost so intense that your eyes were watering.

Silk jumps over a pipe to keep up with Black Cat. "I'm loving that whole. Let's BE BADASSES SIMPLY WALK TO MORDOR to move here, but um, shouldn't we have a backup? Like... ALL THE BACKUP?"
