You sat Cindy Moon down on her bed. She looked rough—rougher than you've seen her. She grunted and mumbled, "Ow. " You sat next to her and asked where it hurt. She snorted, "Everywhere. Thank you..."

"Cin?" another voice intrudes the building moment. You tense up and turn to the source of the noise. You know the sound of your boss... Peter Parker arrived adorned in his red and blue suit. Cindy Moon's smile fades, and she hunches over. "I... saw you both on the news again. Cindy, your abilities seem off. I just want to help. I'm about you."

"You want to help me? Then go away. Forever," Cindy Moon covers her face. "Look... I know you mean well. I do. But I've had a crappy day. A crappy ten years."

However, out of the 3 of you, you figured Cindy's had the least crappy 10 years. You lost everything, and Peter's background wasn't just brutal, but it was laced with horrible outcomes and even worse endings on some occasions. "Yeah. I know," he said. "I figured you wouldn't let me talk to you, so I brought some backup."

He thumbed behind him, and there was the Fantastic Four!

The Fantastic Four was something of a marvel around here, and you don't know why, but you think that was somewhat ironic. Public figure geniuses. At that moment, you were sitting maskless on a couch, watching Cindy as she thrashed and jolted in a tube full of green-tinted liquid with a respirator on. Close by, Reed Richards joined Cindy in a sophisticated VR simulation with a headset where he spoke to the others. Ben Grimm, Susan, and Johnny Storm. The Thing, Invisible Woman, and the Human Torch. And, of course, Peter Parker.

Reed was acting like Galactus, fighting Cindy Moon as Silk, analyzing her with praise. While Ben Grimm and Susan Storm lingered in a circle of discussion, Peter and Johnny were chatting. Your knee bounced; listening to everyone talk at once was exhausting. Between trying to hear what's wrong with Cindy, you also caught Peter explaining to Johnny that Cindy wasn't available for pickup. You wondered how long you could take the flames of the Human Torch if you had to fight him off, Cindy.

The test tubing wasn't enough. Even though you wanted to be with Cindy throughout this experience, Reed Richards took her into her office to speak privately. She was gone for most of the day, and they spoke one-on-one for almost an hour.

In the meantime, Ben wrapped himself in an apron and started to cook something. You weren't sure how much you were going to eat. You were more tired than anything else, and your hand still throbbed. The door opened, and the two walked out in unison.

Cindy looked at you and then snapped her gaze at Peter Parker. She glared and marched towards him. Of course, Johnny shot up and extended his hand out, eager to introduce himself, as she locked back and punched Peter.

The whole room commented on the interaction.

"That's one way to deal with all this," Reed Richards murmurs.

"I think I like her," Susan remarked.

"I think I love her," Johnny beamed, followed by Ben warning him to pace himself, giving you a glance and a rocky smile.

"Who told you that you could tell anyone about my life!" She pointed accusingly at Peter, which made you feel defensive about how much you've shared with him about her.

Peter Parker hovered a hand close to his cheek where he was struck. "I was worried about you. I just wanted to help you. I... am... sorry..." he sighed.

Cindy Moon's cheeks went hot, too. Suddenly, becoming aware of the audience in the room. "Then you should have just left me in that bunker..."

A thick silence washes into the room, and you suddenly find your suit tight, and the room becomes grossly warm and tense. Johnny Storm bounds up, breaking the tension with a flirt and icebreaker. "Okay then. That everything's totally awkward. Why don't you join us for some of Ben's awful food? We're watching The Hobbit."
