It turns out that Cindy Moon and Silk had no intentions of doing anything like that. Instead, she got back and did research, and after a few hours of that, you both crashed on your couch watching something pointless being streamed onto your TV set from one of your phones. The morning after was spent enjoying each other's presence and homemade breakfast before you went your separate ways. Only to rally after you finished your regular job routines...
You are shoulder to shoulder with Cindy as Silk, silent as you overlook New York City together. The silence was peaceful, even as you watched another goblin dork drop a bomb through a skyscraper.
"Loss. Time. Inheritors... Ezekiel..." Silk murmurs.
"What?"
"This guy makes me angry," she says slowly, gets up, and stretches. She has been silent the whole time you have been sitting here. What has been eating her the entire time you have sat beside her? "I want to talk to you after this."
Cindy Moon takes a dramatic step over the edge, prompting you to follow her. "Hey!" She shouted, mid-swing, trailing the punk goblin as he took a sharp curve around the building he just bombed. "Where do you think you're--"
She lets go to her current strand. You begin the curve, too. Around that corner is a whole squad of goblin folk... "Goblin Folk?" You wonder, thinking that was far too friendly sounding for what was happening.
A green figure dives past you towards Cindy Moon as she adjusts her weight into her fall. You dive down, acting upon instinct instead of thought. The goblin racing towards switches gears, apparently counting you on chasing him. He moves swiftly and shoots himself towards you into your dive, slamming you into the building you were just sitting on top of.
"Midnight!" Silk flings like a rock from a slung at your attacker, knocking him off his glider and straight down to the street, threatening to turn him into a red spat on the sidewalk... But sticks him to the wall as he nears the ground.
You crawl out from a desk as you jump in after. "I'm fine. We got others, don't we?" She does a once over, gliding her hands over your sides and then face, making sure you're not bleeding somewhere. "I'm fine," you confirm, grabbing her as you aim for the window that you were smacked through.
Together, you hit, toss, and stifle every Goblin off their glider as they scramble for somewhere to escape. Since coming to this Earth, you have had trouble with these freaks and have had no difficulty purging your anger out on them. In fact, you found yourself having to exert considerable effort not releasing all your strength in these nuisances...
As the goblins scattered in different directions, Silk thumbed her earpiece, which was wired directly to Black Cat...
Let that sink in.
Yes.
Black Cat.
You watch her hold her earpiece down as she warns Black Cat what is happening. "They're reaching mid-town, cat. This needs to stop. Now."
Of course, working with Silk most of the time meant that Midnight was also working with the Black Cat. You didn't know her well, but what you gathered from Black Cat made you dislike her. The ploy Cindy Moon made up (on her own accord) was to get enlisted into her gang by fighting all the good guys. Hence the fake fight yesterday with Spider-Man.
Instead of continuing their pursuit, Black Cat had commanded her to a penthouse. Which meant you were going to see her as well. Silk took an easy swerve mid-swing to change directions. Your eyes lingered at the gliders puff smoke trails through New York's reflective giants before doing the same.
