Chapter 5

Deku takes a deep breath, sighing, but he perks up when Aizawa calls his name.

"Midoriya,"
He hands Deku a note.
"Go take this to the old lady and have her fix you up, things are going to be tougher tomorrow when your actual training starts. Make sure you're prepared."

Deku takes the note, and watches as his teacher walks away.

"Aizawa, you little liar."
All Might says while leaning against the wall, away from the student's views. Aizawa looks at him with his signature tired look and stops walking.

"All Might, so you were watching. No talk shows today?"

He asks, sarcastically while looking forward again.

"A rational deception, that's cute, but you're not exactly known for being light hearted. I read your file, last year, you expelled an entire class of freshmen students. You have no problem with kicking students out; if you see no potential in them, you're ready to cut them off, but you took back your words.... So that can only mean.."

All Might points at Aizawa.

"You see the same kind of potential in Midoriya that I do!"

Aizawa shifts his gaze to him again.

"What are you on about.."

He turns his head to All Might, with a slight smirk.

"It almost seems like you were in this corner the whole time."

He states, making All Might's expression falter slightly.

"Isn't it a little early to be playing favorites?"

His smirk lowers, turning back to his frown as he starts walking away again.

"He isn't completely useless, that's it. If that were the case, I would've sent him home already... It's cruel to let a kid keep dreaming about something that'll never come true."

All Might watches him walk away.

"In your own strange way, you are a kind man, Aizawa, I know that, but clearly we just don't get along."

....

After school, Cyn and Deku are walking together, like always.

"Ugh... I'm so tired.."

Deku mutters, and Cyn looks at him.

"It's okay big brother, I am too."

A hand on Deku's shoulder stops the two. Cyn looks behind Deku, to see Iida.

"Wha-"

Deku looks behind him as well.

"Well, hey there Iida..!"

Iida is just standing tall, as he normally does.

"How's the broken finger doing?"
