Chapter 63: The Hunter’s Game

---

Ny's POV

But the anger bubbling inside me wasn’t so easy to hide.

Hindi ako makapaniwala sa ginawa ni Arden. "Arden, that traitor," I muttered under my breath, habang palakad-lakad ako sa loob ng abandunadong hospital. The news confirmed it—he gave them our location. I threw a bottle against the wall, shattering it in a burst of frustration. My hands clenched into fists, trying to control the anger that burned inside me like fire.

One of my men stood nearby, tense but silent, waiting for instructions. I forced myself to calm down. I needed to think.

"Alam mo ba? Cody found the warehouse," I said, my voice calm but cold. "But by the time she got there, it was too late. We were already gone."

Miley blinked slowly as her eyes adjusted to the light, her lips pressed into a tight line. She didn’t respond immediately, but I could see her mind working, processing my words.

"She’ll find me," Miley finally said, her voice low but steady. "Cody won’t stop. She’ll find me, Ny."

I felt my jaw tighten at her confidence. "Napaka-optimistic mo," I snapped back, stepping closer. "You think this is some kind of heroic rescue mission? We’re always two steps ahead. This isn’t a movie, Miley. People don’t get saved so easily."

She didn’t flinch, her eyes steady on mine. "It doesn’t matter," she said softly. "You’re already losing. You’re letting your anger control you. That’s what will ruin everything for you."

I took a sharp breath, her words hitting harder than I expected. Anger flashed through me again, but I forced it down. I couldn’t afford to lose control now. Instead, I stepped back and turned away, needing a moment to think.

I called over one of my men, nodding in Miley’s direction. "Siguraduhin mong hindi makakatakas si Miley. Watch her closely. Walang pwedeng makialam dito."

He nodded, understanding the seriousness of the situation.

But as I walked out of the room, my mind was already working on the next move. Cody was getting closer, and if we didn’t act fast, she’d catch up. "We need leverage," I thought, running through the options in my head.

That’s when it hit me.

Maive.

Cody’s girlfriend. She was the one who could give us the upper hand. If we had her, Cody would be too distracted to make any more moves. I quickly approached Danilo, one of my most trusted men, and pulled him aside.

"Danilo, change of plans," I said, keeping my voice low. "Forget about Ava for now.

She’ll be easier to reach," I explained. "Get a team together. Make sure no one sees you. Cody is getting closer, but we can use this to our advantage."

Danilo nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Tayo na," he said, motioning to the other men.

As they left to put the plan into action, I stood there, thinking through every detail. This was it. Cody may be tough, but if we got our hands on Maive, her focus would shift. And once her mind was off Miley, we’d have the time we needed.

I looked back at the tent where Miley was held. "Your savior is coming, but not for long," I thought to myself. "Once we have Maive, this game is ours."

The pieces were falling into place, and all we had to do was stay ahead of Cody.
