Chapter 13

【Anno: The universe possesses its own life and way of thinking. Externally, it appears as an objective entity, yet internally, it has a subjective consciousness akin to that of humans. The same is true for the stars.】

He have had three accidental encounters with the consciousness of planets. The first occurred when He first became Pope, a position that granted him access to N-dimensional space. The second was when the stars aided him in regaining his consciousness. The third was for Rufeite. Rufeite tugged at his fingerless gloves. "Now, the military training officially begins."

H9: "The mode has been locked. Military training begins."

Just as everyone was still processing the situation, a beam of light energy whizzed past Anno's head and shot toward Rufeite.

Everyone froze in shock.

Rufeite dodged effortlessly, executing a backflip before swiftly leaping toward the entrance of the jungle.

Kneeling on one knee, Rufeite surveyed the surroundings. "What are you daydreaming about? Do you expect the light energy bullets to be made of plasticine?"

Before a second energy bullet could be fired, everyone scrambled to join Rufeite, taking cover among the trees.

As Anno regained his focus, he sensed a familiar presence, a gentle and expansive consciousness flowing through his mind. He reached out with the language of thought. "Stars?"

Stars: "It's us."

Anno: "Do you know that I'm not dead?" The question slipped out, and he felt a twinge of embarrassment.

The universe has its own will. Regardless of the dimensions of space or time, it cannot escape its inherent boundaries.

In other words, the stars possess their own consciousness and, if they choose, can communicate with any creature. However, for them, the unfolding of the universe exists beyond the constraints of past and present.

Though conscious stars seem to share the same subjective experience as humans, they are, at their core, objective entities allowing the universe to evolve independently.

Having communicated with the stars only once before, Anno never anticipated that their consciousness would reach out to him now.

Stars: "Of course you won't die. Even without the particle explosion in Jerusalem, the star consciousness wouldn't allow it."

Everyone remained hidden in the forest, searching for trees or bushes to shield themselves. Daniel grumbled, "Is this a real light energy bullet? Does military training really have to be like this?"

Rufeite perched on a tree trunk, looking down at him. "Fake."

Anno glanced at Rufeite and raised an eyebrow, signaling his understanding. A collective sigh of relief swept through the group. Kane silently wept inside-clearly, he wasn't cut out for the chaos of this brutal training.

Rufeite explained, "The light energy bullets are fake, and any injuries you sustain will also be fake. H9 will automatically identify your injuries to determine if you were 'killed' during training. If you are, you'll be eliminated and transferred to another department."

Anno: "What do you mean?"

Stars: "The universe has developed to its current state through millions of expansions and particle explosions. The evolution of galaxies follows its own laws, and the stars have never interfered with human development. However, the stars and the universe now need a new turning point. This has nothing to do with time and space but requires a sudden change at a fixed moment. The universe is too old. Without this change, both the universe and the stars face eventual demise. The same holds true for humanity."
