Chapter 41

【Anno: I must return to Jerusalem, even if it holds no real meaning for me anymore. My brother and his lover are involved in matters I don't fully understand, but uncovering what has happened to Rufeite is crucial, regardless of the consequences.】

Liu Yian was right. He couldn't abandon Rufeite any more than he could truly leave Kewei. The souls of lovers become intertwined the moment they fall in love, marking them for eternity. From the moment they decided to return to Jerusalem, Liu Yian and He began to divide their shared possessions.

To be precise, it was Liu Yian who decided to kick me out.

"Everything on the second floor is up for grabs," Liu Yian announced, his tone matter-of-fact. "Except the alarm clock on your bed. You can take anything else, but don't touch the rest. We'll split the interstellar coins evenly. Take the glass cleaning tools from the warehouse with you. Oh, and the radio that can receive 360 frequency bands is yours, but leave the headphones. And don't forget-your rent is due for this month, so make sure you pay that before you go, along with the property management fees..."

The veins in his forehead throbbed with irritation. "I work all day to earn a living for us, and this is all I can take with me? We're splitting the interstellar coins equally? Why?!"

Frustration bubbled up within him as he confronted Liu Yian's stingy nature. In the past, they had supported each other through thick and thin, and he had shown him endless patience. Yet here we were, unable to part ways amicably even at the end of their time together.

When it came time to divide their shared possessions, Anno couldn't believe it-he was being kicked out with nothing. Nothing!

He fought to keep his anger in check, but his eyes nearly bulged from their sockets in disbelief.

Kewei and Rufeite stood nearby, rendered speechless. They had fully experienced the meaning of disillusionment in the past few days.

Today was considered a good day. Just two days ago, the two had nearly come to blows over interstellar coins meant for their spaceship.

Finally, the typically stoic Kewei broke the silence, his voice low and muffled. "Money is very important."

Rufeite nodded in agreement, although he didn't offer any further comment. His subdued demeanor was unusual, yet it added a layer of liveliness to the tense atmosphere.

"Why are you staring at me?" Liu Yian snapped, directing his frustration at Anno.

"I'm looking at you with my own eyes," Anno retorted, gritting his teeth. "It's my prerogative to glare if I want!"

"Damn it! When we got married, you swore in front of the staff that I would be in charge of all the money! It's only been a few years! Just a few years!!"

Anno shot back, "Just because you're in control doesn't mean it belongs to you."

Rufeite leaned against the wall, listening quietly. Habitually positioning himself at Anno's side, he muttered to himself, "I made up those words in the church. It's the same for the entire galaxy. I forget them as soon as I finish speaking..."

Wait a minute... had he just heard the word-

"Married?!"

Kewei's reaction was more immediate than Rufeite's. He stepped in between Liu Yian and Anno, pulling Liu Yian aside to prevent any confrontation.

Rufeite took a few steps closer to Anno, frowning. "What did you just say? Marriage?"

Kewei, equally incredulous, turned to Liu Yian. "Are you married to him?"
