The set was busy with activity as everyone got things ready for the next scene. Therrien glanced over at Red, who was talking to the director about some script changes. She tried not to focus on her, but it was hard to ignore Red today.

Suddenly, Neumi and Charla showed up and sat down on either side of her.

“Hey, Therrien,” Neumi nudged her with a smirk, “Why so quiet? Watching someone special?” she teased, giving a playful nod toward Red.

Therrien rolled her eyes. “What? No way! Just focused, that’s all.” But her gaze lingered on Red a second too long.

Charla grinned. “Right, ‘just focused.’ You seemed pretty intense, though. You sure nothing else is going on here?”

“Nothing,” Therrien said firmly, but her cheeks betrayed her with a slight blush. “It’s just work, okay?”

The two exchanged amused glances, clearly not convinced. “Sure, work,” Neumi said, leaning back with a smirk. She glanced over to Red, who was still deep in conversation with the director, gesturing as she talked.

A moment later, Red looked in their direction and met Therrien’s eyes by accident. They locked eyes for a brief moment, and Red gave her a small, polite smile. Therrien nodded back, trying to look casual.

Charla, of course, had noticed it all. “Oh my gosh, did you see that?” she whispered. “It was like they were talking just with their eyes.”

Neumi laughed, nudging Therrien again. “Come on, Therrien. I thought you were over her?”

Therrien sighed, rolling her eyes. “You two are really reading too much into this.”

“You sure?” Charla raised an eyebrow. “Cause the vibe is definitely still there.”

Therrien couldn’t help but laugh, though she still denied it. “You two need to stop.”

The director called Therrien over to get ready for the next scene. She took a deep breath and headed over to where Red stood, her script in hand.

Red nodded at her in greeting. “Ready for the scene?”

“Of course,” Therrien replied confidently. “Are you?”

Red chuckled. “Yeah, just focus, alright?”

As they went over the scene, Red gave some advice on how to play it out. “For this part, I think it’d be best to keep it subtle. Like you’re holding back, but it still hurts, you know?”

Therrien nodded. “Got it. So, more like… trying to stay strong?”

Red thought for a moment, then nodded. “Yes, exactly. It’s like she wants to stay but feels like she can’t. Something painful but meaningful between them.”

Therrien blinked, noticing how Red’s words seemed to reflect something between them. “Feels… familiar,” she muttered under her breath.

“Familiar?” Red raised an eyebrow.

“Oh, just… you know, lots of scenes like this,” Therrien brushed it off, clearing her throat.

“Right,” Red replied, a small smile on her face. “Well, you’re good at this kind of role.”

Therrien tried not to smile back, though a small one slipped through. “Thanks. And you’re good at…,” she paused carefully, “…writing stories.”
