Saanvi finished her work for the morning and was heading toward the door, dressed sharply in a sophisticated business suit, preparing to leave for her office. Ishaan was busy in his study, finishing a few calls. The atmosphere was calm and businesslike—until both of their phones rang at the same time.

Saanvi’s Phone Call
Saanvi’s mother’s cheerful voice crackled through the phone.

Mrs. Mehra: “Good morning, Saanvi! I hope you’re all set for the big surprise.”

Saanvi: (raising an eyebrow, suspicious) “Surprise? Mom, what are you talking about?”

Mrs. Mehra: (laughing) “Oh, come on! I know you and Ishaan have been working non-stop. It’s time to take a little break. Your father and I—along with the Mehtas—have planned something special for you both.”

Saanvi: (frowning) “Special? Mom, what did you do?”

Meanwhile, in the study, Ishaan’s father was speaking excitedly over the phone.

Mr. Mehta: “Son, it’s time you and Saanvi had some time to relax. Enough of this running off to the office every morning!”

Ishaan: (confused) “What are you talking about, Dad?”

Back in the living room, Saanvi’s eyes widened as her mother continued.

Mrs. Mehra: “We’ve booked a honeymoon for you both! A beautiful resort in the Maldives! It’s all set, and you’re leaving tomorrow morning!”

Saanvi: (eyes going wide, nearly dropping her phone) “Honeymoon? What?! Tomorrow morning? Mom, you can’t be serious.”

Ishaan burst out of his study at the same moment, looking equally shocked as he saw Saanvi’s expression. They locked eyes, both stunned.

Ishaan: “Did you just say... honeymoon?”

Saanvi: (nodding, her voice incredulous) “Apparently, yes. Our parents have booked us a honeymoon trip to the Maldives. We’re leaving tomorrow!”

Ishaan: (staring at his phone) “Dad, are you serious? A honeymoon? But... I have meetings scheduled! And... wait, you booked everything?”

Mr. Mehta: (chuckling over the phone) “Exactly. And don’t worry about your meetings, I’ve already spoken to your staff. They’ll manage everything while you’re away. Now, go spend some time with your wife!”

Saanvi: (sarcastically) “Oh, fantastic. Just what I wanted. A surprise honeymoon...”

Mrs. Mehra: (sensing Saanvi’s reluctance) “Come on, beta, it’s going to be wonderful! You both need this time together, and the arrangements are already made. It’s non-negotiable. Consider it our wedding gift to you two.”

Saanvi: (sighing, muttering under her breath) “This is the worst wedding gift ever.”

Ishaan closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead, trying to hide his smile as he caught Saanvi’s annoyed expression.

Ishaan: (teasing) “Oh, come on, Mrs. Mehta. Are you really that disappointed? A week with your darling husband, all expenses paid, sounds pretty perfect to me.”

Saanvi: (narrowing her eyes) “Don’t push it, Mr. Mehta. This is not my idea of a romantic getaway.”

Ishaan: (grinning) “Well, too bad, wifey. Looks like you’re stuck with me on a tropical island. Just imagine, sun, sand, and me.”

Saanvi: (rolling her eyes, sarcastically) “Oh, yes. Sounds like paradise.”

She ended the call with her mother while Ishaan did the same with his father. They stood facing each other, a mix of amusement and shock on their faces.
