"I...I love you back...a lot"

Alan smiled, his adorable dimples deeper than Jeff had ever seen them.

"I think you forgot something", the alpha said.

"Oh?"

"Mmm...magic word"

Jeff laughed, a sound that Alan just loved to hear. He nudged the omega on the hip.

"God, you're insatiable...I love you back...boyfriend" he murmured.

Alan couldn't contain the joy from showing on his face. He had just what he needed, what he wanted. Hearing Jeff say those words to him was like a dream come true. He stared into his dark brown eyes.

"I love you, Jeff"

He brought their lips together in a soft and tender kiss, an affirmation of his words. When he pulled back he let out a small laugh at Jeff's resulting moan.

"What? Not enough for you?"

Jeff was smiling, but there was something in his eyes, something that Alan thought was akin to sadness.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing, I just...I'm scared a little bit, by how much...I love you...it kind of crept up on me"

Alan wrapped his strong arms around Jeff's small waist, his hands coming to rest on his elbows.

"I told you, you don't have to be afraid with me. I will never, ever hurt you. I promise"

The alpha watched as the tiny flicker of sadness in Jeff's eyes dissipated, replaced by an affection that made Alan shiver. Jeff lifted his hand to Alan's face, and slowly ran his finger along the alpha's left eyebrow.

"Why do you look at me like that?" he whispered.

"Like what?"

Jeff's finger trailed down the side of Alan's face, tenderly drawing an invisible line along his jaw.

"Like I'm the only thing that matters to you", he said, his voice an unsure whisper.

A soft smile spread across Alan's face. He reached up and cupped Jeff's left cheek in his warm hand.

"Because you are"

Jeff's heart was racing, his pulse echoing in his ear with every beat. Was this real? Did this man, this gorgeous man, really love him that much? He'd never had this kind of affection directed at him before. Did he deserve it? Was he worthy of someone like Alan?

"What if...I'm no good for you?"

Alan let out a small sigh. He knew Jeff was emotionally vulnerable, especially after what he had revealed about his past that night, but he needed to know that what Alan was feeling was real. He took Jeff's hand in his own, his touch so soft that Jeff gasped at the contact. Their eyes locked together, Alan pressed Jeff's hand to his chest, just above his racing heart.

"Feel that? That means you're good for me"

Jeff felt tears stinging his eyes again. Why did this alpha make him want to cry all of the time? He moved forward and placed a gentle kiss on Alan's rose pink lips, knowing that if he tried to verbalise his feelings any further his tears would spill over once again. The embrace was as light as a feather at first, their lips just resting against one another, but Jeff wanted more, he needed Alan to feel everything he couldn't say at that moment. He ran his hands through the alpha's hair and deepened the embrace. Alan pulled him closer, his palms flat on the omega's back. They'd kissed plenty of times before, but this felt different, as if it was not only their tongues intertwining, but also something deeper. Jeff let a moan escape his mouth as Alan stood up and started to walk them up the stairs, holding Jeff securely in his powerful arms.
