Matt's P.O.V

The bathroom door slamed shut.

I sighed, melting back into Gus's embrace. Gus started running his hands through my hair again, before gently pecking the crown of my head.

"You alright, Love?" He muttered softly, resting his chin on my head.

"Yeah.. yeah, of course." I answered, not even trying to sound convincing. "I'm just overwhelmed, and tired."

"I understand." He replied, "We can stay here for as long as you'd like, and I could talk or not, it's really up to you."

"Um.. I kinda just want to go home.." I mumbled.

"Oh! thats okay, I completely understand, we can definitely leave." He smiled down at me.

"Um, I'd like to just be alone for a bit.. today's been.. a lot." I sighed, standing up in the tub before climbing out.

Gus went silent for a minute, his face wore a look of concern. "Are you sure you'll be okay?" He asked skeptically. I nodded in response, giving him a weak smile. "Alright, if that's what you feel like you need. Just call me if you need me, okay? I'll be home in the morning."

"Okay, thanks Gus." I smiled as I creaked open the door.

I closed the door behind me, walking slowly down the hall and stairs. All eyes shifted over to me as I entered the main living area. Edric and Hunter were cuddled up on the couch, Amity was sitting in the other edge, scrolling on penstagram, Willow was no where in sight, and Luz was pacing the room.

"Matt!" Luz exclaimed when she saw me, "Are you okay? Where's Gus? Are you leaving? I'm so-"

"Luz!" Amity yelled from across the room, "Just leave him be, he clearly isn't in the mood to talk."

Thank you, Amity. What would I do without you?

I gave both of the girls a small smile before leaving the house. Hooty was no where to be seen when I went outside aswel. Er, well, you could see the tube part, but no face. Which is rather unsettling.

I speedwalked the whole way home, almost breaking into a jog at times. I was not about to be caught out alone at night. It was already getting dark out.

I grabbed the house key from my pocket and unlocked the door. I entered the silent house and kicked off my shoes. Walking into the kitchen, I noticed a green sticky note on the wooden table. I ran over to it, ripping it off the surface.

If you guys somehow end up home early, I (Steve btw if you couldn't tell!!) won't be here for awhile. I got called into work, again. I will be back tomorrow though. Love you! Don't break anything!

-Steve.

Oh, so I'm here all alone. That's great.

I slowly made my way up to my room, passing the disheveled living room where my dad and Perry fought this morning. A rush of emotions flooded my veins as I opened my door, slamming it behind me as I entered.

"Shit, shitshitshitshitshit.." I muttered to myself as paced my room, trying my best to hold back tears, yet failing miserably. I don't understand why all if this is happening to me. As if I haven't had a shitty enough life already. But no, I have to have thing after thing thrown at me. I can never seem to catch a fucking break.

Although, I'd rather all of this happen to me, not Gus.

Titan, he's probably the only reason I'm still here.
