"Augustus, breakfast is ready!" My dad calls through my door. Ugh, it's time to wake up already? I could've  sworn I just fell asleep.

"Okay.." I reply as I got off my bed slowly. "I'll be down in a second!"

"Okay, but you need to pack up your stuff for our stay and Mattys house, we are going straight there after school. Just put the bag of stuff on your bed and I'll bring it later." My dad says through the door. You can hear steps going down the hallway after he said that.

Great. I am so excited to have to share a room with that loser.  I walk over to my dresser, grab my uniform and put it on. I sigh as I check my scroll. No new messages. Great. I put my scroll into my pocket before starting to collect my stuff and throwing it into a spare backpack. I throw the bag onto my bed before grabbing my school backpack and walking down the hallway into the kitchen.

"Thanks dad." I say as I sit down at the table. Griffen eggs, as usual. I do love griffen eggs though, so I'm not complaining.

"Your welcome. Have a good day at school Augustus, I have to head to work now. Just fly Emmeline to school, mkay?" He says, giving me a smile as he grabs his briefcase from beside the counter.

"Yeah, see you later dad!" I say, waving to him as he walks out the door. I sigh as I walk to the sink and wash my dish. "Emmeline, where are you?" I call, walking into the living room. She walks up to me and jumps into my hands, nuzzling against my thumb. "Oh hey Emmy!" I say with a laugh as she turns into a staff. I walk out the front door, locking it behind me. I jump onto my staff and start my commute to Hexside. It's It's not a very far ride, only taking around 5 minutes or so by palismen.

I spot the school and start to descend slowly, stopping on the front steps.

Oh, just on time I guess. I place Emmeline on my shoulder and start walking to my first class. I walk in and sit in front of Matt. He looks less annoyed than usual, scrolling through what I'm assuming is penstagram. "Goodmorning Matty!" I say, leaning on his desk.

"Uhh, good morning?" He replies, looking up from is scroll at me with a confused look. "Oh uh, I do have to tell you something.." He says nervously. I raise my eyebrow at him.

"Shoot." I say, giving him a nod.

"Uh, we are going to have to share my bed when you stay at my house.." He whispers, leaning closer to me and looking around to make sure no one could hear him. I don't really see the big deal but okay I guess.

"So..?" I reply, giving him a smug smile. "You. don't want that Matty?" I tease.

"Not really." He replies, leaning back in his chair. "You could be a restless sleeper, I don't know."

"I'm not, but okay." I say as I turn around.

"Gus!" Matt whisper yells.

"What?" I reply, turning back around.

"Don't tell anyone yet, okay? Neither of us want this, but we're going to have to just deal with it. So don't be making it weird by telling anyone until I say so." He says, giving me a death glare.

"Tell anyone what?" Edric says from beside me. I fall off my chair, I did not know he was there. Matt shakes his head in disapproval without saying anything. "Oh, sorry about that Gus, didn't mean to scare you." Edric apologized, holding out a hand to help me up. I take his hand and he pulls me back into my feet before I sit back down on my chair. "But uh, what are you guys talking about?" Edric asks, turning to face Matt.

"Oh my titan, no." Matt groans. "I'm not telling you Edric. Last time I told you something you literally went and told Steve."

"Waiitt, told Steve what?" I ask. What am I not getting here?

"HE DOESNT KNOW?!" Edric yells, jaw dropping. Matt shakes his head slowly, looking back and fourth between me and Edric. "Okay so-" Edric starts before getting caught off by a spike appearing millimeters away from his throat.

"Don't. You. Dare." Matt says, a spell circle around his right hand while his left is slammed into the desk.

"Okay okay, damn, chill." Edric says, putting his arms up dramatically. "Its really not that big of a deal but okay."

"Yeah you would think that." Matt says, glaring at Edric.

"Heyy! Atleast I admit it!" Edric protests.

"Uh, I feel like I'm missing something here." I say.

"There's no way that he doesn't know though. It's so obvious?" Edric sighs.

"Yeah, I do have a feeling he does. Uhmm... I'll tell him later, how do you feel about that?" Matt replied, completely ignoring the fact that I say something.

"I mean yeah, but there goes my blackmail. But good for you I guess." Edric said before turning around.

"Uhh, what was that about?" I asked Matty, raising my eyebrow.

"I'll tell you later Goops." Matt sighed, pulling out his scroll.

"Uhh, Gus, are you okay?" Willow asks in a concerned tone, placing a hand on my shoulder. "You haven't talked much, at all today really. "

"Uhh, yeah, I'm fine." I say, turning to face her. "I just don't have much to say, that's all." I mean, I wasn't lying. They weren't exactly talking about anything interesting.

"Yeah, but you've been staring at the same spot all lunch period. What's on your mind?" Willow asks.

"Matt." I blurt out. I quickly clasp my hands to my mouth and look over at Willow, eyes wide. She was looking back with a concerned expression.

"Why..?"

"Nothing, it's not important." I sigh.

"WAIT." Luz exclaims, you can practically see a light bulb floating above her head. I think I know what she's thinking.. and I don't like how she knows it. "Is he the one you like?" She whispers into my ear. I nod slowly. I can't belive I'm admitting this right now. "But I thought you like, hated him or something?" She asked.

"Uhh I don't know.." I  muttered. Laying my head on the lunch table.

"But that can't be the only reason your not talking." Luz said, voice softening slightly.

"Yeah, he's telling me something later and I'm trying to figure out what it is."

"Oh, well can't help you there buddy." Luz says, patting me on the back before turning back and talking to the group again. I roll my eyes at her before pulling out my scroll to check penstagram.
