Matt's P.O.V

*RING*Ughh, another fucking day in hell on the boiling isles, also known as Hexside School of Magic and Demonics. I roll out of my bed slowly, falling onto my floor with a loud Thump. I groan as I get up off the floor. I throw my Hexside uniform on before walking downstairs.
"Anyone here?" I call out, to no response. It wasn't unusual to get no response. Steve was a coven scout, Dad worked a ton, and mom was completely out of the picture. I grab my bag and put my shoes on before starting my commute to school.
"Goodmorning Matty!" Bria says as she walks up behind me, grinning from ear to ear.
"Why do you have so much energy this morning?" I mumble in a tired voice.
"Matt, you didn't forget did you?" Bria says in a concerned voice.
"Uhh, forget what exactly?" I say, nervous smile plastered across my face.
"Ugh, Matty, of course you did.." Bria groaned, "It's the big Grudgby match tonight. You know, finals."
"Shit... I forgot about that.." I mumble. "That's after school right?" I ask.
"Yeah, it's at 7:30."
"Okay great.. I still have time to make it to the meeting..." I sigh as we walk into the school.
"Uh huh, well you have fun with that Matty! Talk to you later!" Bria yells as she walks down one of the hallways. I stare at her back for a second before turning around and heading to my first class, Illusion homeroom.
I never really wanted to join illusions, it was my stupid dad's idea. Augustus's dad and mine are like, literally best friends. And somehow he convinced my dad that me joining illusions would be a great idea. Apparently they both think me and Gus are besties or something.
I sit down in my usual spot near the window, and pull out my scroll. I still have around 10 minutes until class starts. I'm just sitting there, checking penstagram, when my peace is disrupted by Gus and Edric entering the classroom, yelling at eachother.
"WELL ATLEAST IT TASTED GOOD!" Edric yelled as he sat down behind me.
"YEAH, BUT ITS A FUCKING PAPERCLIP. ITS METAL!!" Gus yelled back, sitting infront of me.
"STILL TASTED GOOD! I STAND BY MY OPINION!" Edric replied, still yelling.
Fuck, they could be any louder, huh? I can barely hear them yelling in my ears.
"WELL YOUR OPINION IS WRONG!" Gus exclaimed, standing up and slamming his hands onto my desk, completely disregarding the fact I was sitting there.
"WE-" Edric started.
"SHUT THE FUCK UP. BOTH OF YOU!" I yell, standing up from my seat to be face to face with Gus. "It's giving me a headache."
"Awee sorry babe, were we too loud?" Gus snickered, sitting down in his chair. My face goes red with anger. I continue to glare down at him as he looks back up at me with a smug grin. "I know I'm pretty, but can you please stop staring Matty?"
"Gladly. And don't call me Matty." I say, sitting down and pulling out my scroll again.
"Awe, does someone not like that nickname?" Gus teases with a laugh. He leans his elbows on my desk and rests his face on his fists. "I mean, I could call you Matthew if that makes you feel better about yourself."
"Oh fuck off Goops." I respond with a smirk. You can see him getting flustered.
He hates that nickname, it ways works to my advantage."I- you- Shut up." He says hurriedly, his voice cracking mid sentence. I laugh as He turns around and pulls out his own scroll. I slouch back in my seat and pick at my fingernails.
"Alright class, pull out your textbooks onto page 211." The illusions teacher says, walking into the classroom. Fuck, of course we have to do textbook work today.

*RING*Finally, that class is over. I don't think I could listen to her talking any longer. I stand up and grab my bag before heading to my next class. History of the Emperors Coven. Which arguably is a even worse class than Illusions, but I beg to differ.
"Hey Boscha." I say as I sit down next to her. Boscha is the captain of my grudgby team, and I don't remember a time when we weren't friends.
"Hey Matt, you ready for the game tonight?" She asks, popping her gum.
"Uhh.. as ready as I'll ever be." I reply. I am not ready whatsoever, but that's fine. She doesn't need to know that.
"That's good, we can't loose this game. We have scholarships on the line here Matty." She says, suddenly switching to a more serious tone here. "And my parents are broke as shit, they can't afford my university without scholarship."
"Yeah, I know. I won't mess this up for you Boscha, I promise." I say, giving her a reassuring smile. She nods as Bria sits beside her. They are pretty close aswel, Bria, Boscha and Skara are almost never seen apart.
"Hey guys, how was first period?" Shs asked, a large grin plastered on her face, as per usual.
"Fine." Me and Boscha say in unison.
All of a sudden the room gets super loud. I look over at the door to see Gus and his stupid friends. They are almost as annoying as he is. Luz has way too much energy it's unnatural, Willow won't talk to me, Hunter- is Hunter I guess I don't know, and Amity left our friendgroup for those loosers. So I'm pretty sure they don't think too fondly of me considering Gus AND Amity hate me. They sit in the row infront of us, and of course, Gus parks himself in the desk infront of me.
"Hey Matty, did you miss me?" He teased turning his chair to face me.
"Fuck no nerd. And turn around, the shine on your forehead is giving me a headache." I reply, giving him a smug grin.
"Awee, that's not the impression I got from you earlier~." He whined. "You couldn't get enough of me earlier Matty."
"I'm not gay Goops, unlike you." I reply, crossing my arms. I actually am gay as fuck, but I would never let him now that.
"Are you sure about that Matthew?"
"100%."
Gus looked me up and down, shaking his head. "I don't know about that one Matt." He says before turning around.
"Whatever." I groan.
