"...Swallow.... it?" you questioned, barely able to process the request. "Why would I swallow a sparkly rock...?" I suppose I should've figured you would've had questions, but there's not much time to lose. It is a cold night, monsters and wild animals run rampant in this forest, and you are still in shock.

Swallow it. Swallow it. You must swallow it, child.

"Wha-" your head is filling with my will. This opportunity is too entertaining to waste. "What's going on...?"

The stone, child, you must swallow it.

Your shaking hands raise to your lips, the green halo of light illuminating your face. You open your mouth and take it into your mouth, mind foggy.

Swallow it.

It felt sharp all the way down.

. . . . .

You awoke to a sudden lack of air. Like a weight set directly on your face, you were smothered under something heavy. You groaned into the object, barely being able to make a sound. Your chest lurched as you began to suffocate under it's weight. For a split second, you were so sure this was it for you... this is your time...

The sound of your struggle stirred the thing on top of you, and you were soon blinded by the bright morning light.

"Oh, goddesses above," a voice said from above you, their tone drenched in guilt and concern. "Speedy, I'm so sorry, are you okay?!" You were still sputtering for air and groaning against the light, head throbbing. The night had wore on to ungodly hours, and eventually the exhaustion(and alcohol consumption) just got to you. Fun? Yes. Worth it? Questionable.

Once your eyes had adjusted to the light, it was apparent that you were not alone in this. Soldiers and villagers alike were shamelessly sleeping across the deck, in piles or laid under beautifully woven blankets. It seemed that it was only children who'd actually made it to bed(or hammock. Hammocks? Ugh, ignore me).

Looking back at where you were, it seemed that it was Bruno that had rolled over and smothered you against his... great mass.

It seemed that you and Bruno had gotten away from the bulk of the party, at least. The two of you were laying across the floor of someone's (thankfully) empty home. There are vague memories of you talking to him further back from the main festivities, shortly after "Esteemed Champion Revali of the Rito" had left to his own devices. Where was he, anyways?

Ah, he'll turn up. There are more important things to deal with now.

You stood up shakily, your head still pounding. "Y-yeah, I'll live," you say, voice hoarse. "Aren't we supposed to...?"

The two of you, hungover and sore, shared a moment of clarity.

"OH," Bruno shouted, jumping up with you and stumbling through the heaps of half-asleep people. You blinked and stumbled after him, a similar frenzy rising in you. "WAKE UP, WE HAVE TO GO!"

As Bruno's shout echoed across the deck, and groans and murmurs rippled through the wooden paths of Rito Village in it's wake. You swayed on your feet, rubbing your temples, and wondering why it was you decided to stay up so late knowing what you had to do the next day.
