On our last evening, Mrs Weasley conjured up a massive dinner, ending with a mouthwatering treacle pudding. Fred and George rounded off the evening with a display of Filibuster fireworks, which filled the kitchen with red and blue stars that bounced from ceiling to wall for at least half an hour. Then it was time for a last mug of hot chocolate and bed. It took a long while to get started next morning. We were up early, but somehow we still seemed to have a ton to do. Mrs Weasley dashed about in a bad mood looking for spare socks and quills, people kept colliding on the stairs, half dressed with bits of toast in their hands, and Mr Weasley nearly broke his neck tripping over a stray chicken as he crossed the yard carrying Ginny's trunk to the car. I couldn't see how ten people, eight large trunks, three owls, a rat, and a cat were going to fit into one small Ford Anglia. That worry was put to rest when Mr Weasley opened the trunk and showed Harry, Falco, and I how it had been magically expanded so that the trunks fit easily.
Arthur: Not a word to Molly.
When we were all in the car, Mrs Weasley glanced into the back seat, where Harry, Ron, Fred, George, Percy, Falco, and I were all sitting comfortably side by side.
Molly: Muggles do know more than we give them credit for, don't they?
She and Ginny got into the front seat, which had been stretched so that it resembled a park bench.
Molly: I mean, you'd never know it was this roomy from the outside, would you?
Mr Weasley winked at us and started up the engine, and we drove out of the yard, Harry turning back for a last look at the house. I barely had time to wonder when I'd see it again when we turned back. George had forgotten his box of Filibuster fireworks. Five minutes after that, we skidded to a halt in the yard so that Fred could run in for his broomstick. We had almost reached the highway when Ginny shrieked that she'd left her diary. By the time she had clambered back into the car, we were running very late, and tempers were running high. Mr Weasley glanced at his watch and then at his wife.
Arthur: Molly, dear-
Molly: No, Arthur.
Arthur: No one would see. This little button here is an invisibility booster I installed, that'd get us up in the air. Then we fly above the clouds. We'd be there in ten minutes and no one would be any the wiser-
Molly: I said no, Arthur, not in broad daylight.
I turned and muttered to Ron.
YN: That invisibility booster would've been nice to know about last month.
He chuckled. We reached King's Cross at a quarter to eleven. Mr Weasley dashed across the road to get trolleys for our trunks, and we all hurried into the station. I went first, running straight through the wall onto the platform. Falco and Percy came through a moment later, and I saw Pieck climbing onto the train.
YN: Percy, could you tell Harry and Ron to meet Falco and I on the train?
Percy: Sure.
We placed our trunks in a compartment and ran to catch up with Pieck. We climbed up the stairs and ran down the aisle, finding her sitting in a room with another girl I recognized.
YN: Hey.
I sat down next to Pieck, who hugged me. I turned a bit red as the other girl looked up from her newspaper, showing her signature dreamy expression.
Luna: Hello YN.
YN: Luna, it's nice to see you. How have you been?
Luna: I've been well.
Pieck: You know each other?
YN: Yep, our parents are friends.
Falco: Hi, I'm Falco.
Luna: Luna Lovegood, nice to meet you.
She smiled softly at him, and his face went a bit pink. I smirked at him and he glared back as Luna went back to her newspaper. The door slid open again.
Hermione: Pieck, YN, Falco! It's so good to see you. Where are Ron and Harry?
YN: Dunno, they should be here...
We waited and waited, but they never showed up. Hermione eventually got up to go look for them, before coming running back a few minutes later, out of breath.
Hermione: They're not on the train!
YN: What?
Falco: Um... I think I see why.
She pointed out the window where, to our horror, a blue Ford Anglia nearly smashed into the side of the train, before veering away. I just had time to see Harry and Ron through the windshield before the car shot up into the clouds.
YN / Pieck / Hermione: Those idiots...
We're halfway through the sorting ceremony, and there's been no sign of Harry or Ron. I'm sure they're both in huge trouble, I just hope they weren't expelled. Ginny had been placed in Gryffindor, Luna was in Ravenclaw, and Falco was now going up. A few moments after the Sorting Hat had been placed on his head...
Sorting Hat: GRYFFINDOR!
Hermione, Pieck, and I cheered as he came running over, sitting next to me with a huge grin on his face. Dumbledore gave his announcements and the feast began, but a few minutes in, Snape came in and whispered something in McGonagall's ear. Her face contorted in rage for a split second, before she regained her composure and both teachers swiftly left the Great Hall. I turned to Falco.
YN: That can't be good, right?
After the feast, where we heard quite a few rumors and theories of what happened to Harry and Ron, we went to our common room, where they were sitting in silence.
YN: What the hell happened? People have been saying you two crashed into the Whomping Willow!
Falco: The Whomping Willow? What's that?
YN: It's a willow. It whomps.
Falco: Uh... okay.
The two explained what had happened, and Hermione glared at them.
Hermione: You two are lucky you weren't killed. Let alone expelled!
The portrait hole opened and the rest of our house came storming in.
Lee: Brilliant! Inspired! What an entrance! Flying a car right into the Whomping Willow, people'll be talking about that one for years!
People treated them as though they'd just won a marathon. Fred and George pushed their way to the front of the crowd.
Fred / George: Why couldn't you've called us back, eh?
Ron was scarlet in the face, grinning embarrassedly, but we could see one person who didn't look happy at all. Percy was visible over the heads of some excited first years, and he seemed to be trying to get near enough to start telling them off. I nudged Harry in the ribs and nodded in Percy's direction. He got the point at once.
Harry: Got to get upstairs, bit tired.
The two of them started pushing their way towards the door on the other side of the room, which led to a spiral staircase and the dormitories. I hugged Pieck then followed them. We passed Hermione, who was wearing a scowl just like Percy's. We managed to get to the other side of the common room, Harry and Ron still having their backs slapped, and gained the peace of the staircase. We hurried up it, right to the top, and at last reached the door of our old dormitory, which now had a sign on it saying "second years". We entered the familiar circular room, with its curtained beds and narrow windows. Our trunks had been brought up for us and placed at the ends of our beds. Ron grinned guiltily at Harry.
Ron: I know I shouldn't've enjoyed that or anything, but-
The dormitory door flew open and in came the other second year Gryffindor boys, Seamus Finnigan, Dean Thomas, and Neville Longbottom.
Seamus: Unbelievable!
Dean: Cool.
Neville: Amazing
I couldn't help it and grinned. We all started laughing, before heading off to bed.
