Alastor's POV

As I am standing there lost in my own thoughts, Abigail's major comes in.

"Is she still sleeping soundly?" the major asks the parents.

"Yes. How did this happen? You and other officers were suppose to be watching her," Abigail's asks abrasively.

"Susan," the husband says quietly to his wife.

"It's ok. Abigail is her daughter, and the mother bear is coming out. My wife would have the same attitude," the major says.

"This is what we know so far. There was a guy going around Abigail's neighborhood saying he was from the water company. Abigail and the officers watching her saw the van when Abigail went to the Y. When the guy knocked on Abigail's door, she texted the officers. Unfortunately, they had a flat tire and were not around. Abigail and the officers agreed everything seemed ok to answer the door because this was not our guy's mo. We know Abigail allowed him inside, and there was a struggle. We know this because we found his blood on her carpet. That reminds me, I need to look under her finger nails to see if there is blood under them."

Abigail's mother let go of Abigail's hand so the major can look at her fingernails.

"I think I see blood. I will send a detective to scrape under her nails. She really is a fighter. Isn't she?" the major asks with a smile.

"Yes. She always has been," her father says.

"She told one of the EMS workers that he used chloroform to kidnap her. The only other thing we know, is that the suspect is claiming to be an angel in human form, God talked to him, and, this is why we think he changed his mo, that he saw Abigail talking to a demon," the major says.

"He is insane," Abigail's mother says.

"It seems like it. When Abigail wakes up, we do need to talk to her. Please call me as soon as she is awake. It will be up to her if she wants you to hear what happened."

The mother starts to say something, but the father puts a hand on her shoulder.

"We understand. We will call you when she is awake," the father says

"Thank you. Could I get you anything? Something to drink or eat?" the major asks.

"No, but thank you. We might go to Abigail's to sleep, but we are not sure yet," the father says.

"I am not going anywhere until my baby wakes up," the mother says as she holds Abigail's hand again.

The major says goodbye and leaves.

It seems Abigail did not have time to think about the ring when she was being kidnapped. He said he saw me talking to Abigail. That could only have happened on Monday evening. How did anyone not notice we were being followed?

It still would not have happened if I hadn't let my pride get in my way. One of the orders I resend was to summon me if she needed to answer the door. She might have been upset with me that she had to follow those orders, but she would have been safe. I have to admit to myself that if I had been truthful about wanting her safe more than as entertainment, she might have been more accepting to my orders.

There is nothing I can do about it now. I do tell myself that I will try to be better at communicating with her from now on.

I decided to explore the hospital until morning. I pass by a room with an officer standing in front of it. I stop and stare at the door for a few seconds. Oh, how I want to go in there and make Remiel go truly insane.

I sigh and move along. It would not do any good.

Remiel's POV

Damn police shot me. When they told me to freeze and told me again, but I didn't listen, they shot me. All I was doing was reaching for my Bible.
