Remiel POV
I have been in the hospital for 36 hours now. I have been flirting with the young nurse who comes in to check on me. She told me about the major and detective leaving a room not too far from mine. That must be where little saint is.
I was able to get the nurse to let me look at my paperwork. I really don't want to see it, I just wanted the paperclip. I can use the paperclip to get the handcuffs off.
This little nurse is so naive. I am able to get sympathy from her when I tell that the police shot me and I was only reaching for my Bible. The officers are not allowed to tell why they were there to arrest, so she doesn't know the truth.
I tell her that I want to go outside to get fresh air. After lunch, she gets me a wheelchair and takes me to the garden. Of course, the officer has to follow, but I don't care. I get a view of the hospital floor. I notice that the doctors will leave their coats behind the desk so they can be easily reached. A door to one of the patient's rooms opens, and out comes that stupid detective and another officer. I take a mental note of the room, 206.
Out in the garden, I dote on the nurse some more by giving her a flower and saying something sweet. She just blushes as she takes the flower. I glance over at the officer, and he rolls his eyes.
As we start to go back inside, the officer leans in to say something in the nurse's ear. I have great hearing and hear every word.
"You do know I would not be here if he wasn't dangerous, right?" the officer asks the nurse.
"Huff. He told me why one of you shot him! All he was doing was reaching for his Bible!" the nurse spouts out.
The officer takes a step back and shakes his head.
Such a sweet soul. If I had met her before this, I would have made sure she went to heaven. I think as a smile goes onto my face.
We arrive back to my room, and the officer stays outside perfect.
"Hey, little angel, could you leave the wheelchair?" I ask her sweetly.
"For what?" she asks curiously.
"The nurse that works after you is no fun. I saw that there was going to be a children's choir singing in the chapel tonight. If you could get the officer away from the door around 6:30pm, I can sneak out and go see the children sing."
"Mmmm. I don't know," the young nurse says.
I put my hand on top of hers.
"Please?" I say, giving her my sweetest smile.
"Ok. I will only distract the officer for 20 minutes only. You have to be back in your room before the 20 minutes is up. Ok?"
"Of course, little angel."
Abigail's POV
I want to go HOME!
They are finally letting me eat something more than chicken, but it's still hospital food.
Today, I had to talk to mental health professional. I told him I know I am going to need therapy. That he is going to be the one to say if I am mentally ready to go back to work. Of course, the nurse had to tell him how I woke up in the middle of the night screaming bloody murder so we had to talk about that. I know it was just a nightmare, and who wouldn't be having nightmares about being drown after what I went through.
My parents are insisting that they stay at my place for a few days to help me feel safe. I keep telling them they don't need to do that, but deep down, I am grateful they will be there. I am worried I will keep them up at night with nightmares.
