The No. 1's No. 1
Last Order fumbled with the thermometer, trying to get it into Accelerator's mouth without poking his eyes or nose. "Muu... muu... don't move, Accelerator-san. Misaka says in a frustrated tone!" she said, her brow furrowed in concentration.
Accelerator groggily opened one eye, then the other, and gazed up at Last Order. "What's... with all the fuss?" he muttered, his voice hoarse.
"Muu, you're sick! You have a fever! I have to take care of you, Misaka explains in loud tone!" Last Order exclaimed, finally managing to insert the thermometer correctly.
Accelerator sighed and closed his eyes, letting Last Order do her thing. He was used to her clumsy but well-meaning attempts at nursing.
After a few minutes, Last Order carefully removed the thermometer and examined it. "Muu... 38.5 degrees! You're really sick, Accelerator-san!" She scribbled down some notes on a piece of paper, her handwriting wobbly.
Accelerator raised an eyebrow. "You can read that?"
Last Order nodded vigorously. "Muu, of course! I've been practicing my numbers, Misaka says in a prideful manner!"
Accelerator chuckled, despite his fatigue. "You're something else, Last Order."
Last Order beamed with pride. "Muu, I'm going to make you all better! I'll get you some medicine and... and... um... soup, Misaka says as she...!" She stumbled out of the room, almost tripping over her own feet.
Accelerator facepalmed. "This is going to be a long recovery..."
Last Order returned with a tray, carrying a steaming bowl of soup, some pills, and a glass of water. She set it down on the bedside table, spilling a bit of soup on the sheets. "Muu, sorry! Misaka says while sniffling her tears"
Accelerator smiled wryly. "It's okay, Last Order. Just... try not to poison me, okay?"
Last Order looked offended. "Muu, I'm a great nurse! I've been watching all the medical dramas on TV! Misaka pouts at Accelerator's words" She handed Accelerator a spoon. "Eat your soup, Accelerator-san! It's good for you!"
Accelerator hesitated, but Last Order's enthusiasm was infectious. He took a sip, and to his surprise, it wasn't half bad.
As the day went on, Last Order continued to fuss over Accelerator, bringing him medication, blankets, and even attempting to sing a soothing song (though her singing voice was more akin to a strangled cat). Despite the chaos she caused, Accelerator couldn't help but appreciate her efforts.
As night fell, Accelerator drifted off to sleep, Last Order sitting beside him, watching over him with a determined expression.
"Muu... Accelerator-san, don't worry. I'll take care of you," she whispered, her eyes shining with devotion.
Accelerator smiled in his sleep, knowing that with Last Order by his side, he'd be back to his mischievous self in no time.
(A/N: Would this pass as a good short?)
