Chapter 52

After staying at the farmers' homes for two nights, the guests set off back to their own tents on the third day.

They first rode camels for a while before walking the rest of the way to their tents.

However, as they walked, they nearly lost their way.

The terrain in the desert was unpredictable; the sand dunes had shifted shape due to the wind, and there were no other landmarks, making it difficult to orient themselves.

Finally, they managed to reach what seemed to be the spot where they had set up their tents.

But the place was barren, covered only in sand, with no sign of any tents.

Shen Feng frowned. "Where did our tents go? Were they blown away by the sandstorm?"

As the most active child among them, Xiao Niangao chimed in with his imagination: "Could it be that some monsters stole them?"

After these young and old shared their thoughts, the others were equally puzzled, as they had indeed not seen their tents during their journey.

"Hahaha, the guests came back after a few days to find their homes stolen."

"Getting lost in the desert is terrifying."

"Mainly because there are no trees or anything in the desert, making it hard to determine direction."

Amidst everyone's confusion and unease, Lin Yi spoke calmly: "Didn't you notice we were heading in the wrong direction?"

Shen Feng asked, confused: "There are no landmarks around; how did you figure out the direction?"

In the desert, all one could see was sand, making it easy to lose one's way.

Lin Yi pointed calmly at the sun: "Can't we use the sun to determine direction?"

At this point, Zhao Jin also raised a question: "But even with the sun, we can't pinpoint the exact location of our tents."

Lin Yi raised an eyebrow: "True, but we can use the sun and the watch's hands together to at least get a general sense of the direction of our tents, and then follow that direction to find them."

Everyone was stunned by Lin Yi's words.

Using the sun and the watch's hands together?

How would that work?

Fortunately, Lin Yi proposed a solution and took charge.

He said to Zhao Jin: "Lend me your watch for a moment."

Zhao Jin promptly took off his watch and handed it to Lin Yi, watching curiously as Lin Yi operated it.

The others watched intently as well.

Lin Yi held the watch, made some calculations, and then led the way forward: "Follow me."

Though they didn't understand exactly what Lin Yi was doing, they followed him.

"Ahhh, Lin Yi must have been a top student in school."

"As a fellow underachiever, I envy his geographical knowledge."

"I can usually determine direction elsewhere, but not in the desert."

He Nian walked among the group.

Seeing Lin Yi confidently leading the way, he couldn't help but sneer inwardly.

Did Lin Yi really think he was a geography expert? How dare he lead so confidently.
