Chapter 61
A little past five in the afternoon, Ji Yunchuan, with his hands in his pockets and humming a tune, arrived at the Huo Group.
He made his way to Huo Jihan's office.
However, when he entered the office, he didn't find Huo Jihan but instead saw Li Feng tidying up something.
Ji Yunchuan exclaimed, "Where's Big Brother Huo? Did he leave so early today?"
His Big Brother Huo was a workaholic, usually leaving around six, but today, it was barely past five, and he was already gone.
Li Feng straightened up, holding a glass jar, and greeted him, "Young Master Ji."
After seeing what Li Feng was holding, Ji Yunchuan asked curiously, "What are you doing with that glass jar?"
Li Feng smiled and explained, "Mr. Huo instructed me to put these stars on the coffee table into the jar and place them on his desk."
Ji Yunchuan, always one to join in on anything interesting, immediately moved closer.
Why would stars need to be placed on the desk? There must be a story behind this!
Ji Yunchuan walked over, picked up one of the small stars, and examined it, finding it was just an ordinary paper star, nothing special.
He turned to Li Feng and asked, "Is there any significance to these stars? Why use such an expensive glass jar for them?"
If he remembered correctly, this glass jar was a collectible from an auction. In terms of value, it far exceeded the worth of all these stars combined.
Li Feng replied, "Mr. Lin folded them."
Ji Yunchuan was taken aback, "Sister-in-law folded them? He came to the company?"
Realizing something, he said, "No wonder Big Brother Huo values these stars so much. Tsk tsk, their world is truly incomprehensible."
Li Feng smiled and continued sorting the stars.
He placed all the stars in the jar, sealed it, and then placed it on Huo Jihan's desk.
Soon, Li Feng and Ji Yunchuan left the office and closed the door.
Inside the office.
The jar of stars sat quietly on the desk.
These stars seemed out of place amidst the cold files, but they added a touch of warmth to the entire desk.
Meanwhile.
Lin Yi accompanied Huo Jihan to a business banquet.
Huo Mianmian had been sent home earlier by the bodyguards.
Lin Yi didn't have any real feelings about the upcoming banquet; he was just accompanying Huo Jihan and didn't need to socialize. He could simply enjoy the food and drinks.
It was quite pleasant to attend without having to do anything.
Before long, they arrived at the five-star hotel hosting the banquet.
Before getting out of the car, Lin Yi asked Huo Jihan, "By the way, are you sure I don't need to assist you with anything?"
He remembered the agreement he signed with Huo Jihan and was ready to cooperate if necessary.
Huo Jihan replied, "No, do as you please."
Lin Yi raised an eyebrow.
It seemed Huo Jihan really just brought him along to integrate him into his life.
Thinking about it, Lin Yi smiled, "Alright, then I'll do as I please."
"Sure."
They entered the hotel's grand hall together.
The hall was already filled with many people.
All of them were influential figures, either wealthy or powerful, whose words could have significant impact.
This banquet wasn't just for fun; everyone here aimed to build connections.
The hall was brightly lit, with glasses clinking, a stage for the upper echelons.
When Lin Yi and Huo Jihan entered, the hall fell silent, and everyone turned to look at them.
First, they noticed Huo Jihan. Many were here specifically for him, having learned he would attend and eagerly wanting to speak with him.
Huo Jihan, dressed in a black suit, looked extremely cold and distant, his eyes seemingly empty, exuding a terrifying aura.
His presence slowed the air in the hall.
Everyone instinctively tensed up, even breathing more lightly.
But who was the young man beside Huo Jihan?
Apart from a few who recognized Lin Yi, most did not know this unfamiliar face.
Yet, they all agreed that he was incredibly handsome, especially his playful eyes that could instantly captivate anyone.
Huo Jihan's aura was sharp and cold, while the young man wore a faint smile, looking carefree and relaxed.
The auras of these two individuals were completely opposite, but when they stood together, it gave off a surprisingly harmonious feeling, as if they were meant to be together.
Everyone thought to themselves that this young man must be the key figure of the evening.
After all, anyone who could accompany Huo Jihan to such an event would undoubtedly hold a significant position.
Before long, a group of people gathered around, hoping to engage in conversation with Huo Jihan.
"Mr. Huo, you're here."
"Mr. Huo..."
Lin Yi listened for a while.
After some time, Lin Yi felt there was nothing more for him to do here and wanted to slip away to look for something delicious to eat.
But before he could take a step, he was surrounded by a group of people.
And these people were actually there to give him gifts?
These people had clearly come prepared, presenting him with antiques, paintings, shopping cards, collectibles, and more.
They knew Huo Jihan never accepted such things, so they cleverly decided to approach Lin Yi instead.
Lin Yi looked at the situation and slightly widened his eyes.
Of course, he didn't accept them directly but turned to glance at Huo Jihan for his opinion.
Huo Jihan said to him, "If you like them, take them."
Hearing this, Lin Yi raised an eyebrow.
If asked whether he liked them or not, of course, he did.
