Chapter 113
After dinner, the guests proceeded to their next destination.
They were heading to where they would be staying for the next few days.
Along the way, the guests admired the scenery and discussed their itinerary.
However, amidst the harmonious atmosphere, an unpleasant voice suddenly emerged.
Sun Hua abruptly changed the subject, "I believe one should always pursue art. Like me, I've directed and starred in several major films."
Since he was a new guest, everyone paused to listen to him.
Seeing that everyone's attention was on him, Sun Hua felt quite pleased. After all, artists like him deserved such treatment.
He cleared his throat and continued, "But those audiences have no appreciation whatsoever. They said my films were terrible. Clearly, they're not worthy of such profound works. But I don't take it to heart; after all, they're just a bunch of riffraff..."
He rambled on, proving that he did indeed care about the audience's opinions, otherwise he wouldn't be so resentful about it.
Lin Yi couldn't help but laugh.
Sun Hua immediately glared at him, "What are you laughing at?"
Lin Yi replied indifferently, "Nothing, just wondering if there's a possibility that your movies are actually bad, rather than the audience being incapable of appreciating them."
Sun Hua: "..."
He retorted angrily, "Do you even know what art is?"
Lin Yi raised an eyebrow, "No, but I don't think you do either. If you make a film, it should at least receive some positive feedback, right? If everyone says it's terrible, then maybe you need to reflect on yourself."
Sun Hua: "..."
He wanted to refute Lin Yi but found himself at a loss for words.
"Good job, Lin Yi!"
"I've been wanting to say this. Every time Sun Hua makes a terrible movie, he blames the audience for not understanding it. I mean, why should we appreciate a pile of crap?"
"You're right. His movies always flop both critically and commercially. He acts like he doesn't care, but then he starts talking trash about the audience."
"Lin Yi, keep it up! You're speaking for all of us!!"
Sun Hua was left speechless by Lin Yi's rebuttal.
To save face, he changed the subject again, "What's going on? There aren't any cars? Are we supposed to walk all the way to our accommodation?"
Then, he boasted about his wealth, "I wish I had brought my limited-edition sports car. It would have made everything more convenient. Of course, I wouldn't have enjoyed it alone; I would have given everyone rides too."
No one responded to his comment.
Feeling awkward, he turned to Zhou Ke, "Right?"
Zhou Ke, who suffered from social anxiety, felt extremely uncomfortable being singled out. Due to his personality, he couldn't ignore others, so he reluctantly replied, "Yeah, you're quite considerate."
Encouraged by the praise, Sun Hua became even more smug, "Of course. I'm known for being generous and manly. Speaking of which, my ex-wife said I wasn't manly enough and divorced me. She must regret it now. I won't take her back; let her stew in her own regrets."
