Lin Yi heard Huo Shi's voice, stopped drinking the milk, and looked over.
Not knowing how to explain why they were still awake so late, he simply raised his cup and said, "I was thirsty, so I came for some milk."

The next day was a workday.
When Lin Yi woke up, Huo Jihan had already left for the company.
Lin Yi yawned and lazily made his way downstairs.

Just then, her phone rang from beside her bed.
Huo Mengyan, with dark circles under her eyes, picked up the phone and saw the caller ID.
Zhao Yu.
She hung up without thinking.
However, moments later, the phone rang again.
Huo Mengyan held the phone, hesitated for a while, and finally answered but didn't speak.
On the other end, Zhao Yu started speaking: "Mengyan?"
Huo Mengyan remained silent.
Zhao Yu continued, "Mengyan? Are you listening? I waited all night to call you so as not to disturb your rest. Please don't ignore me."
Huo Mengyan finally spoke: "There's nothing left to say between us."
Hearing Huo Mengyan speak, Zhao Yu breathed a sigh of relief: "Thank goodness you're talking. If you hadn't, I would have come straight to your house."
Huo Mengyan retorted, "Why would you come here?"
Zhao Yu said earnestly, "Of course I would. It took me so much effort to win you over; I can't just give up. Mengyan, you're being too heartless. Are you going to throw away our three years together because of someone else's words?"
Huo Mengyan frowned: "That 'someone else' is my sister-in-law."
Zhao Yu was taken aback but then said, "Alright, alright, I won't say anything bad about her. I just want to tell you that I'll wait for you at the place where I confessed to you. I'll wait forever until you come."
Huo Mengyan quickly responded: "Who asked you to wait?"
Zhao Yu said directly, "Alright then, I'll wait for you."
