Stacie comes from a rich family.
At just thirteen years old, she has everything that any girl could ever want: designer clothes, fancy cars, and a lavish home.
However, the fact her parents have always given in to her every whim and desire has made her quite selfish and self-centered, as she believes that the world revolves around her.
Brushing her long, wavy blonde hair that falls down her back, she gazes at herself in the mirror. Her eyes are a piercing blue, and her skin is fair and unblemished. She wears a pink silk robe over a matching nightgown, which makes her look even more doll-like.
She pouts her red lips at her reflection, snapping a selfie for her Instagram before she continues with her nightly beauty routine.
Her mother is the owner of an international fashion label, and has passed down her love of fashion and beauty to Stacie. She makes sure to keep up with all the latest trends, spending hours and hours shopping for the newest and most stylish outfits.
In the next moment, she hears her bedroom door creak open.
"Mom? What?"
"I just came in to say goodnight, Stacie. What, are you getting shy now?"
Her mother chuckles, walking over to her and placing a soft kiss on the top of her head. Stacie frowns, annoyed by her mother's intrusion.
"No, I'm just... busy," she says, shrugging her mother off and returning her gaze to the mirror.
Her mother gives her a tight smile, not used to such rude behavior. She knows her daughter can be a bit of a brat sometimes, but she loves her nonetheless.
"Alright, well... goodnight then, darling," she says, leaving the room with a sigh.
As soon as her mother leaves, Stacie gets up and closes the door behind her. She doesn't want to be bothered anymore tonight, as she has more important things to worry about. Like which guy to go out with this weekend.
After all, she likes to keep her options open, and she doesn't want to be tied down to anyone.
Ugh, there are so many guys who want to go out with me, she thinks while scrolling through the pictures on her phone.
They all look the same to her; boring and bland. She can't remember the last time she had a decent conversation with a guy at her school. Most of them are only interested in one thing, and she's not willing to give that up to just anyone.
She sighs, tossing her phone aside and crawling into bed.
As she snuggles under the covers, she can't help but think about what her life would be like if she had a boyfriend. Someone who would care about her and take her out on dates.
Stacie's eyes slowly close, as she begins to drift off into a deep slumber.
In her dream, she is surrounded by handsome, charming boys who can't get enough of her. They lavish her with attention, showering her with gifts and compliments.
Suddenly, she sits up, blinking a few times as she tries to figure out what has awakened her.
Her mouth feels dry, and she is parched.
As her vision becomes clearer, she notices that the glass of water that usually sits on her nightstand is empty.
How annoying.
The last thing she wants to do is get out of bed and fill her own glass.
So, she listens, waiting until she hears the familiar sounds of her mother puttering around in the kitchen downstairs.
