Karl's POV:
I stood there, stunned, watching Jeremiah walk away in tears, haunted by my choices.
What is happening to me?
I asked myself, filled with regret over the decisions that brought me here.
Jeremiah was everything to me. He was kind, joyful, full of dreams. But over the past few months, something had changed—something inside me.
Our once cheerful relationship, full of love, had grown silent. Distance crept between us.
That night, while drinking with new friends at the bar, I felt drawn to the warmth and attention of someone else.
Leo said hi to me, then kissed me out of nowhere. I kissed him back.
I met Leo, and in an instant, I felt…
Why not? Just for a moment, what harm could it do?
I told myself, even though I knew it was wrong.
As we laughed and talked, I felt myself slipping away from Jeremiah.
The laughter, the glances we shared—they gave me a happiness I no longer found with Jeremiah.
But with every smile I shared with Leo, the weight of my choices pressed down on me.
What if I hurt my baby? my Jeng?
I whispered, confused by my own feelings.
After that long night, we were heading home, both drunk. Outside the bar, Leo kissed me again as we left.
I couldn’t help but feel tempted, so I kissed him back, my body heating up.
Then I heard someone call my name.
“Karl!”
I turned, and there he was—Jeremiah, my boyfriend.
“Jeng! Wh-what are you doing here?” I stammered, surprised and nervous.
“Wow! Jeng? Really, Karl? This is the first time I’ve heard you call me by that nickname!” he said angrily.
Then it hit me.
I never called him ‘Jeng’ before because I promised to love him completely—no one else, only him. But now, little by little, I realize all my promises are broken.
Suddenly, I felt a sharp, intense pain when I saw him cry.
“No more chances, Karl. We’re done! And please don’t call me ‘baby’ anymore—I can’t believe you hid this from me.”
My world crumbled with those words, knowing I was the one to blame.
I chased after him.
“You deserve better than this, baby. I know I don’t even deserve you.”
My voice trembled as I admitted the truth.
