Kenzie woke up to silence. Usually on the weekdays, it would be a whole bunch of noise. Her family getting ready to leave the house.
She blinked a couple of times so her eyes could get used to the light. She looked over to her right, and seen Rylo sleeping peacefully.
It was moments like this when she found him attractive, even when he was just sleeping. She didn't start finding him attractive until 9th grade.
He had went to his Dads house in New Jersey, and came back with a glow up. Kenzie didn't even recognize him at first.
She didnt have a crush on him, she just found him cute and some of the things he would do or say would give her butterflies.
But, she didn't see herself dating him. He
wasn't even her type.
She grabbed her phone to check the time, it was 8:14 am. School starts at 8:35 so kenzie didn't plan on going to school.
Rylo turned onto his right side. She looked over at him and smiled a bit. Her eye began to irritate her so she got up and went into the bathroom.
She grabbed her contact case and took her contacts out. She grabbed her glasses and wiped them with the cloth before putting them on.
Kenzie used to not have to wear glasses but when she woke up one day, her eyesight was blurry. So now she was prescribed to wear glasses.
She wore contacts a lot tho because she thought she looked like weird with glasses. So, she only wore em at home.
She turned the bathroom light off and walked back into her room. Rylo was sitting up blinking. Once he eyes were adjusted to the light he said, "What time is it." he started looking around for his phone.
"It's like 8:16. Yo phone is right there on the floor." she pointed.
"Damn. It's monday right?"
"Yea dummy."
He smacked his lips and got up to walk out of the room. Kenzie sat on her bed and grabbed her phone. She unlocked it and went to Kaors contact. She pressed the facetime icon.
It rung 2 times before she answered, "What?"
"Excuse you, the fuck? Why yall ain't wake us up?"
"We tried to but yall niggas was out cold." she said as she sipped her juice.
Kenzie rolled her eyes and hung up, "I guess we're gonna be in the house all day." kenzie thought to herself self.
Rylo came back into the room and looked at kenzie. She felt someone looking at her and turned to look at him, "Boo bitch, fuck is you staring at me for?" she said copying that stunna girl sound on tiktok.
He snapped out of his thoughts. "Girl stsu." he went to grab his pants to pull over his shorts. "You finna leave?" kenzie asked.
"Yea."
"Why? where you finna go?"
"Ta mind my business. Ima call you later tho."
"Youn got to." kenzie rolled her eyes and turned to lay on her stomach.
He smacked his lips, "What chu gotta an attitude for?"
"Ian got no attitude." she said even though she clearly had one.
"Alr bruh. Come lock the door." he walked out of her room.
"Alr bruh come lock the door." she mocked his voice. She waited till after he left to go downstairs and lock the door.
Now she was home alone once again, which she didn't mind one bit. She loved being alone, sometimes.
Silence was just what she needed. She went back upstairs to her room and grabbed her roku remote. She turned on her tv and went to the apple music app. She went to her oldies rnb playlist and pressed shuffle. She turned her tvs volume to 50.
'Until The End Of Time' by Justin Timberlake, and Beyoncé started playing.
"Listen, i woke up this morning.

Kenzie sung along as she grabbed her phone and unlocked it. She went to her pinterest app and looked up dorm rooms to get sum inspiration.
After saving sum pins, she decided to redownload Instagram. She barely got on instagram. She didn't get the hype. The only people she followed was rylo and her family.
She scrolled for a little bit before going to her inbox. She had 30+ followers but she didn't follow them back.
She got bored and turned her phone off and began dancing and singing to 'Long Way 2 Go' by Cassie.
The song changed to 'Everything' by Mary J. Blige. She sat down and closed her eyes and began to imagine her life in college.
She didn't even know she had dosed off until she heard her phone going off. She sat up and rubbed her eye.
She picked her phone and seen that they were all instagram notifications. She unlocked her phone with face id and clicked on the most recent notification.
They were all direct messages from @liyah.nicolee__. She skimmed through the messages she sent. That last thing she sent was a video.
Curious, she pressed play. There was a video of her and rylo having sex. She quickly clicked off of it and deleted instagram once again.
So many thoughts were running through her head. She wiped the tear that she didn't even noticed roll down her cheek.
She didn't know why she was hurt by the video. I mean, they weren't technically together and Rylo and liyah weren't either technically.
She decided to call Rylo and see if it was true. The facetime call rung 4 times before he answered.
The camera kept moving and Kenzie kept hearing grunting and moaning. Kenzie aint never had sex before, but she also wasn't stupid. She knew exactly what was going on. She hung up the phone and threw her phone at the wall.
She turned her tv off and threw her kurt slides on. She went downstairs and grabbed her keys off the counter. She got into her car and drove off.
She didn't know where she was going exactly, but she just needed to get out the house. She just drove in silence.
She got to a red light and closed her eyes. She took her glasses off so she could wipe her eyes. Once she could see clearly, she put her glasses on and began driving again, forgetting the light was red.
A car ran into hers from the side making her car flip 3 times before landing right side up.
The last thing Kenzie heard was sirens.
