"So, will you be able to die if you're told to?" the blonde commander asked, his face stoic as his blue eyes locked onto the cadets standing their ground on the field.

"We do not want to die, sir!" yelled one of the cadets.

"I see. . . Everyone, you all look determined. Alright! I welcome you to the Scouting Legion. I salute your bravery! Dedicate your hearts!"

All 22 cadets placed their fists over their chests, standing tall and firm, their eyes burning with resolve.

But among them stood Adrasteia, a cadet who was invisible.

After three years of grueling training, she had never managed to stand out.

She was just another face in the crowd, quietly observing while her peers thrived. Whether it was hand-to-hand combat, mastering ODM gear, or even understanding Titan biology, she seemed to lag behind.

"I hope this time will be different," she whispered to herself as she turned away and headed back to her dormitory.

Eight days after the Battle of Trost, the 104th cadets were now deployed to their respective military regiments.

Adrasteia walked along the path, her gaze drifting over the bustling scene.

Her eyes caught sight of Mikasa, Armin, and Eren as they reunited, their faces illuminated with relief and joy. A small smile crept onto her lips as she watched the trio, their laughter echoing through the air.

'How I wish you three would live long lives together', she thought wistfully, feeling a pang of longing for the times they used to share—days filled with innocent dreams and carefree adventures before the weight of the world settled upon their shoulders.

As she watched, she noticed Eren's infectious enthusiasm, his eyes bright with determination. Mikasa stood protectively at his side, her fierce loyalty evident in her every gesture, while Armin's thoughtful expressions revealed the strategic mind always at work.

The bond they shared was unbreakable, forged through trials and victories.

But in the back of her mind, she felt the familiar tug of what was ahead for all of them. She knew the danger lurking, choices that could tear them apart.

It was a bittersweet feeling, knowing what lay ahead and wishing desperately to shield them from it.

As she turned to walk away, she noticed the rest of their friend group huddled around Eren, animatedly discussing their plans for the future. Their laughter echoed in her ears, a warm contrast to the chill of the world beyond the walls.

Adrasteia continued on her path, keeping her presence low-key.

She had always preferred the shadows, blending into the background while they took the spotlight. There was something comforting about being an observer, a quiet guardian of them.

She had been through so much, and while she may not be in the forefront, she wanted to ensure she could support them in any way she could.

Again and again and again if she must.

Lost in her thoughts while walking to her assigned dormitory, she didn't notice a figure walking straight into her.

"I apologize. I wasn't paying attention to where I was going," she said, her tone bland and lacking any sincerity.

"It's alright, my dear! You must be a new cadet! I remember seeing you when Erwin was giving his speech! Wow, you are really beautiful up close. Are those your natural eye color? I haven't seen anyone with such unique features before aside from Ackerman."
