'Titans. . . the one that devoured my mother!'

The sight of them nearly knocked the breath out of her. Their towering human-looking forms loomed through the trees—gigantic, grotesque figures, their hulking bodies almost blinding in the setting sun.

There were three of them, each one well over ten meters tall, their faces a grotesque blend of humanoid features and monstrous, twisted expressions. Their mouths hung open, wide as if to scream, but instead, a low growl emanated from them, the sound vibrating in her chest.

'There are so many of them.'

Her pulse raced, panic flooding her thoughts. The first and last time she had seen a titan, it devoured her mother and her people.

But before she could act, before she could even think, a strange, almost magnetic sensation surged through her. It started in the pit of her stomach, a hum, a strange pull as if something deep inside her was awakening. Her vision blurred for a split second, and when it cleared, she realized something had changed.

The titans. . . were looking at her. But it wasn't the usual vacant, mindless stare. No, these titans—they were focused on her.

Her heart stuttered in her chest, panic clawing at her throat. They weren't just mindless giants—they were aware of her. But how?

A voice, her own voice, echoed inside her head. "You can control them."

It came out of nowhere, a whisper that felt like it wasn't just a thought but something more. Control them? She shook her head, bewildered. This couldn't be real.

But the pull, that sensation deep in her gut, was undeniable. She instinctively stretched out her hand, palm open, toward the nearest titan, the one closest to the stream. The ground trembled again, and, to her utter shock, the Titan paused.

It stopped mid-step, frozen in place, towering over her like some dark, twisted monument. She felt a strange connection to it, as if her mind and its own were linked—no, more than linked. As if her will was flowing into it, somehow controlling its every movement.

No. This can't be happening. I can't. . .

She stopped when she realized something that she had forgotten.

"Could this be the power of the Spinal Segment?"

But then, the Titan's massive head tilted slightly, its glowing eyes locking onto hers, and it obeyed. Slowly, like a puppet on strings, the titan's arm raised, its enormous hand moving toward her with agonizing slowness, but with a purpose, as though it was waiting for her command.

She gasped, her heart racing. It was real. She had control.

Another Titan, a second one, lumbered closer. She raised her other hand, almost instinctively, and again, the titan halted mid-step. It wasn't as strong as the first—it felt more distant like the connection wasn't quite there yet—but it stopped nonetheless.

'Focus', she told herself. 'Focus on them.'

She closed her eyes for a moment, centering herself. Her mind raced, trying to make sense of this. Could she really control them? These terrifying, unstoppable monsters that had plagued humanity for so long?

"Yes. You can control them."

Her thoughts reverberated with the words, growing stronger, and clearer. There was power, a strange and terrifying power. She could feel it pulsing beneath her skin, something ancient, primal.
