It's disheartening, but okay. As authors, we try to balance life, studies, and our passion for writing, but sometimes it feels like readers don't really care. Thank you so much for your support! I'm setting a new goal now. If you feel inclined, please consider voting again. I don’t expect much, but every bit of support means a lot to me. I’m aiming for a target number of votes. A strawberry-flavored lollipop was in my mouth as I stood on the office balcony.

Mehek's wedding had been postponed for almost a month due to the unexpected death of her buddy.

A shootout happened yesterday in front of my shopping complex. My manager informed me, but he didn't have all the details.

There was a strange feeling. Nothing specific, but there were hints.

We were unable to put everything together. However, I was aware that if we discovered a connection, a significant truth would surface, which may be harmful to those we cared about.

"You're going to damage your teeth with that," observed Satvik, lighting a cigarette and looking at me.

I wrinkled my nose and said, "I need something to distract me from cigarettes." I reached over without thinking, took his cigarette, and threw it from the balcony.

"Don't smoke around me," I said.

"Hey! What the hell, man!" he snapped, faking a punch at my face.

"Feels like I’m going crazy, seeing her everywhere," I muttered, rubbing my eyes.

Then he gave me a sharp pinch on my ear. "Ow!" I yelped.

"First off, you’re not imagining her," he said, watching me with a smirk. "Second, it feels like you're about to be in even more pain than that."

"Wait...is it the police?" he asked, scratching his head.

From where we stood in the office, I could see her walking into the building, flanked by two police officers—and her so-called fiancé.

I couldn’t help but grin. "Well, look who decided to show up."

"Oh, hell. That’s my girlfriend," he muttered, putting a hand over his forehead.

"We are so doomed," he said, looking at me with dread.

"Yeah, absolutely," I agreed, trying not to laugh.

The phone on my desk buzzed, and the receptionist's voice came through, sounding a bit tense. "Sir, someone named Miss Mehek Raychand, along with the police, is here to see you regarding a matter."
