In irritation, I exclaimed, "What are you doing?"
He nonchalantly responded, "You were standing for a long time, so I suggested sitting. Your legs must be hurting."
He inquired, "Today is your day off, right?"
I responded, "No. My night shift starts tonight,"
"Today is your birthday, don't go today," he urged.
I widened my eyes, "Even if it's my birthday, I can't skip work today. Duty calls, Anirban."
I remarked,"Your work is considered a job, but my work is not viewed in the same way."
He sighed, "Okay baba, don't get angry.Take this"
He put a small gift box in my hand.
I questioned, "What is this?"
Anirban smiled and responded, "Your birthday gift." His eyes twinkled with anticipation
He insisted, "There is a small pendant. I hope you will like it"
As he rose from the bed, he reminded me, "You have to leave at 2 pm, right? Be ready, I'll take you."
I insisted, "I can go alone. You don't have to accompany me."
"No, no," he countered, "Uncle said so, Now it's final."
I retorted, "Dekha jayega"
(We'll see.)
Before leaving my room, he apologized, "Sorry, I should have contacted you. Forgive me, okay?"I glanced at him, still harbouring a hint of anger.
I felt a softening in my heart, but then he added,
"Mujhe kya pata tha teri koi dost nahi hai bat karne ko. Kon hi tujh jaisi pagal ladki ke sath bat karega mere alawa."
(How did I know that you don't have any friends to talk to? Who else would talk to a crazy girl like you except me?)
"Anirban! Today, you will die," as I hurled a pillow at him.
He skillfully dodged the attack and retreated, teasingly running away.
As he left, he remarked, "Ready rehna."
(be ready)
It is undeniable, I have friends, but none hold a closeness comparable to Anirban.

As I had instructed Maa earlier to bring my breakfast to my room, it turned out to be Naina who brought the food.
I lay there, gazing vaguely upward, and noticed Naina entering with a food tray. I couldn't help but express my surprise, questioning why she hadn't called me before bringing it.
Naina responded matter-of-factly, "You said to bring food."
I said that because I was angry," I clarified, taking the plate from her and settling on the couch.
Observing the generous amount of food, I spontaneously suggested, "It's so much food. Naina, will you eat with me like we used to during our childhood? I can't eat all this alone."
Naina hesitated, "Really, but..."
I interrupted, insisting, "What but? Sit here I am coming after washing my hands" I gently pulled her hand, guiding her to sit beside me.
( Never forget to wash your hands before eating.lol)
My mother had prepared puris and spicy dum aloo. Delighted, I exclaimed, "Aahha," and turned to Naina, inviting her to indulge. Without hesitation, Naina eagerly opened her mouth to savour the delicious meal.
