Dazai Pov

Thirteen years ago. (Dazai is five years old)

"Osamu, don't go too far," my mother said.

"Alright, mom," I said.

I ran off in the forest, admiring our beautiful nature is. There are other creatures living there, but they're peaceful. Just like me. I'm an intelligent fox. My father left when I was just a baby, so it's just me and my mom.

I kept walking in the forest until I heard someone crying.

Hm, who's that.

I saw a person who's my age crying in a tree. He have black horns, orange hair, blue eyes, cool clothes, and a tail.

I'm guessing he's a demon. Or devil.

I jumped onto the tree, and climb up to the same branch as the kid.

"Hey, you're alright?"

The boy jumped, but calm down.

"Who are you?," he said.

"My name is Osamu Dazai. But, most people called me, Dazai."

"Alright?"

"What's your name?"

"Chuuya. Chuuya Nakahara."

"Well, Chuuya. Why were you crying?"

"Nothing, just got into a fight with my brother."

"Oh, really?," I said.

"Yeah," Chuuya said.

"Well, it's probably because how pathetic you are."

"Excuse me!?"

"You heard me."

Chuuya got so angry, he tackled me, and we went flying in the bushes. My mother was shocked when she saw us. She quickly bandaged me up, then went to go help my new friend.

She soon left for the market while me and Chuuya watched the sunset.

"Well, I see your mom is nice," Chuuya said.

"Yeah, but she's too nice if you asked me," I said.

"Well, I think it's fine." Chuuya rested his head on the balcony as he sighed. "Me and my brother got separated from our parents after the human attacked."

I will admit it, I felt bad for the first time in my life. Suddenly, I hugged Chuuya. He was shocked for a moment, but ended up hugging me.

I get my face turning red as I got embarrassed.

"Thank you, Dazai."

"You're welcome, Chuuya."

"Friends."

"Friends."

13 years later (Dazai is seventeen while Chuuya is eighteen)

"Wow, the cherry blossoms looks so pretty," I said.

"Yeah, it's too bad there's only a few," Chuuya said.

Me and Chuuya relaxed under a cherry blossom tree while the sun was out. I was catching cherry blossoms while Chuuya rested on my shoulder.

Chuuya looked so peaceful as I blushed. When Chuuya wasn't looking, I quickly made a flower crown and put it on his head. Chuuya soon woke up and noticed the crown.

"Really," he said.

"What? It looks so beautiful on you," I said.

Chuuya sighed as he stood up.

"Anyways, I better get going," he said.

"Alright, bye Chibi!"

Chuuya gave me an annoyed face, but say goodbye to me. Actually, today is Chuuya's birthday. Chuuya wasn't a fan of his birthday, so he isn't doing something special.

But, as his best friend. I'm planning to get him the best gift. And I know what to get him. I quickly rushed home, saying hi to mom and got in my room.

I went through my drawers and fished out a golden treasure map. Today, I decided to search for rare treasures near the Sandy Shore.

I know how much Chuuya loves treasure. Which is why I'm planning to go on a treasure hunt.

That slug better thank me.

Soon, I left my house and followed the treasure map. Before that, I went back to the cherry blossom tree and make a bouquet of beautiful flowers.

I hid them in a cave behind of the waterfall before I continued on my journey. Eventually, I arrived on the beach to see gold coins on in the sea.

"Wow, there's are so many coins in the water!"

"Chuuya is going to be so happy."

I kept picking up coins, when I noticed a small treasure box in the water. It was a brown box with golden steel on it. I quickly picked up the chest and opened it as my eyes beamed. There were so many gold coins and beautiful gems.

"Oo, Chuuya is going to love this!"

I happily took the box as I ran to go find Chuuya. I was so happy that I didn't noticed a trap coming towards me.

"Gotcha!"

"Huh?"

Suddenly; I was attacked by a huge net and knocked to the ground.

"Wow, we caught a lucky one," random guy said.

Some group of hunters came of nowhere and surrounded me.

"Yeah, a kitsune fox," an another guy said.

"We can sell him for a lot of money," the third guy said.

I gritted my teeth as I checked on Chuuya's gift, but one of the hunters saw it.

"Oh, what a wonderful box you have," the second guy said.

"Yeah, can we see it?," the fourth said.

I quickly hid Chuuya's gift as the hunters got close. Just then, something came flying and let a scar on the first guy.

"Ouch!? What the!?"

I saw a frustrated Chuuya standing on the rock as he glared the hunters down.

"Hands off of my friend," Chuuya said.

The hunters got their guns ready as Chuuya rushed towards them. Chuuya immediately kicked the guy in the face and send him flying to a tree.

Two guys tried to shoot Chuuya, but Chuuya immediately caught the bullets with his ability and caught one in his hand, and shot them back, leaving them lifeless. The last guy was too terrified to do something as Chuuya got close to him.

"If you tried hurting Dazai again, I will crushed your skull to the ground."

The last hunter nodded his head as he ran off. Chuuya turned to me, annoyed and walked towards me.

"Can you stop getting into trouble, Dazai."

"Sorry, I got you a present."

We moved into an another location as we his behind the cave. The waterfall really set the mood as I revealed the treasure to Chuuya.

"Surprise! Happy Birthday Chuuya!"

Chuuya looked shocked as he took out a beautiful amber gem. Their fire glow really represent Chuuya.

Chuuya smiled at me as he took his gift.

"Thank you, Dazai."

I turned red as I just remember my other surprise.

"Wait here," I said.

I left Chuuya for a moment, and came back with the glowing bouquet of cherry blossoms and a small cake with a candle on it.

"Happy birthday Chuuya."

Chuuya chuckled as he smiles.

"Thank you, Dazai."
