Chapter 6: Change and Salutations

"Kagura left home early this morning, Kotono said she thinks she is heading to Shigure's house to see Kyo."

Hatori and I sat on the porch of his house taking drags of our cigarettes. "Do you think she'll get there alright?" I ask Hatori, not knowing if the road to Shigure's house is safe or not.

Hatori chuckled, "This is Kagura we're talking about, she'll be fine. I'm more worried about Shigure's house."

I chuckle as well.

Kagura Sohma is the Boar of the Zodiac. She has a fighting spirit with a really bad temper. She was known to be destructive when emotional and it just so happens that she's in love with a certain Cat who disappeared for 4 months and to say she's going to be angry at him will be an understatement.

"I just hope that Honda-san doesn't get caught in the crossfire of any of their fights." I sigh, knowing that if she did she'll probably get severely injured due to the ferocity Kagura can bring.

Hatori nodded, "Yeah, I've made sure to keep an ear out for my phone in case anything like that happens."

I frown, "You won't think Kagura will get jealous that Honda-san is living with Kyo, do you?"

Hatori sighed, "It's very probable, I'd say, after Shigure got permission from Akito letting Honda-san stay at his house, he mentioned how Honda-san was a 'Year of the Cat fan', whatever that means. But after his dramatic crying on how she doesn't want to be a part of the 'Year of the Dog' I came to the consensus that Honda-san felt sorry for the Cat due to the old folk story about the Zodiac Banquet. And, well, knowing Shigure, he'll probably use this information to tease and egg-on Kagura."

I shook my head in disappointment, "Shigure, you better not get this innocent girl killed!" I yelled in annoyance at no one in particular.

Hatori laughed, "Annoying and stupid as he is, I highly doubt he or Yuki will allow that to happen."

I smile and nod, "True, true."

A knock at the door tore Hatori and I out of our conversation as we were greeted by one of Hatori's maid. "I'm sorry to interrupt Hatori-san, but the main house called, Akito-sama, has summoned Hakumei-sama and has asked for their presence in his room." The maid said in a swift, soft voice.

Hatori nodded and looked at me before turning his attention back to the maid, "Thank you Haruhi-san."

The maid bowed and left the room.

Hatori and I looked at each other and I sighed, "Well, thank you for your company, Tori-chan. But I must head off, after all God waits for no man."

Hatori nodded, "Talk to you soon, Hakumei-san."

I snuffed out my cigarette on the ashtray and left Hatori's house.

The walk from Hatori's house to the main house wasn't far, afterall Hatori often had to make the trip to ensure Akito's health. By the time I arrived however, the moment I entered the front door I was met with scolding. "What took you so long? You're God is in need of your presence and you simply take your time? What an utter disgrace you Zodiac's are. You should be ashamed of yourself." It often seemed like Hitomi was more dedicated to Akito than anyone else, and often she actually was. It wasn't uncommon for me to receive a scolding after leaving Akito's side, even if it was only for a minute.
