Later that night...

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

I softly hum the same melody I had heard on the beach, the stranger's voice ringing through my ears with such a familiarity it made me frustrated. I sigh, running aggravated hands through my hair as (D/N) softly huffs at me.

Who was he?

"What do you think, (D/N)?" I question quietly, making him rise from his laying down position and sit up at attention. "Am I crazy? Thinking some guy saved me?"

(D/N) whines as he shakes his head, scooting closer to me.

"And about this guy, Caspian..." I start, sighing as I look out towards the sea. "Why is he making me feel like this? I feel like... like I've known him for years, and he hasn't even said a word to me."

I groan in frustration, shaking my head quickly and burying my face into my hands.

"I must be crazy!!"

(D/N) sets his head on the railing besides me, softly whimpering sympathetically.

I hear footsteps behind me, recognizing them as Grimsby's.

"Hey, Grim."

Grimsby clears his throat, slowly joining my side by the balcony railing I was sitting on. "(Y/N)."

"Hmm?" I hum in response, my hand reaching up and grabbing the shell hanging around my neck.

"If I may say... far better than any dream man, is one of flesh and blood," he quietly speaks, setting a hand on my shoulder. "One warm and caring, and right before your eyes. "

I let out a quiet huff, "I never said I was in love with whoever rescued me. I just wanted to thank whoever he was."

"Ah, I see," Grimsby hums, though by his tone he thought otherwise. "Then why are you trying to deny your feelings about our guest, hmm?"

After he says this, he turns and walks away, leaving me with (D/N).

(D/N) whines lightly, tilting his head towards the open door and looking back to me in question

"I'll... be in in a second," I reply, turning back towards the ocean with a sigh.

(D/N) frowns with uncertainty, turning and slowly walking back inside the castle. I glance up at the sky, catching glimpse of Caspian standing in his room by the window. He was watching the night sky as well with a small smile, turning and heading towards his bed and disappearing from sight.

I felt myself smile, quickly wiping it off my face as I shake my head quickly with a sharp sigh of annoyance towards myself.

"Stop it," I whisper to myself, hitting my knuckles lightly against my head. "You can't possibly be this infatuated with a guy you met two days go. You made fun of people like this! People who married strangers! That's what we are. Strangers!"

Well... we're not really strangers anymore, right?

As I think this, my voice seems to merge with another's, sounding oddly familiar.

Who...

Red hair sways in the breeze, a soft chuckle ringing out in my mind.

Striking red hair... and gorgeous blue eyes that remind me of the sea...

The man turns to me, his eyes shimmering with what seemed to be curiosity and awe. He sat along a rock, his feet... no. Not feet.

... A tail fin?
