Engfa's POV:

It's been two weeks since the party. My accident earned me a weeks stay at the hospital. I had a few stitches on my forehead and an injured knee but I think I'll survive. I heard that Snack was in a coma and just woke up few days ago. Thinking about what happened stirred guilt within me, if only I had done things differently, maybe Snack wouldn't be in the hospital. I still hadn't visited her after what happened and my friends have not gone either. It's not that I didn't care about her, it's just that I'm not the kind of person to admit their mistakes.

Today, I will be meeting with the principal to know if I would get kicked out of school or not. Honestly, I didn't care if I graduated college or not. I was not, really studying, I'm just here for the party and I like being popular in school. But my dad gave me an ultimatum, he said he will cut me off if I do not graduate, so I decided to try my best to get out of this mess.

I was lost in my thoughts watching the window outside when I felt a pair of eyes staring at me. My eyes met those light brown eyes behind thick glasses, she stared like she was looking into my soul, there was no judgement, just pure curiosity. I arched my brows realizing who she was. The neighbourhood goodie, my schoolmate since I was in grade school. Charlotte.

She was always in my class but I never got close to her. Maybe because we are opposites, I am considered as a badass, a player, troublemaker while Charlotte was the top of the class, never been into trouble, and always joined the community services. Being born to a rich family, I didn't have a care in the world. After my parents got divorced when I was 12, my attitude towards life just went south. I did not attend school for more than a year and when I came back I was already 14 and my classmates were all younger than me. I got popular and people wanted to befriend me because they think I'm cool. Everyone, except Charlotte.

When she saw me staring back at her puzzled, she gave a faint smile then looked down and went back to scribbling something in her notebook. It was the first time I noticed her smile. I wasn't sure what it was but I felt something inside me. Before I can process what it was, a voice called out to me. "Miss Waraha, the principal wants to have a word with you" it was Professor Morgan. I stood up and got my crutches, as my left knee wasn't fully healed. I shot one last glance at Charlotte before leaving, I caught her looking back but immediately looked away. She looked shy which made me smile, I didn't know why. I just shook it off my head and went straight to the principal's office where the judgement for my actions from the previous week awaits me.

The principal, Mr Harris was a middle-aged man, scruffy looking with the stress he got from the events last week. He was slumped in his seat looking defeated then looked at me, studying me first before asking me to take a seat. I sat on the opposite side of his desk, putting my crutches beside me. "Miss Waraha, you never fail to disappoint me. Drinking in school grounds, skipping class, picking fights, and now throwing a wild party on a weeknight and getting someone injured?" his voice full of judgement. I just smirked unaffected by the show he's putting off.

"I was gonna kick you out of the University, but I've got a better idea" a sly smile forming on his face. I just stared back to him feeling unamused. "Instead, you need to join community service during weekends, join the drama club for their next performance, and work at the library twice a week!" he finished with enthusiasm in his voice. I rolled my eyes, and huffed, I wasn't particularly excited with the idea of joining every nerdy activity there is but I don't have a choice but to go with it. "Is there anything else you need me to do?" I looked straight to him with a blank expression. "No, that will be it. But if you miss attending those activities even just once then you're out. And I'm sure your father won't be happy if that happens" he answered with a smirk. "Whatever you say. Better get started then" I said with a hit of sarcasm then got up and left before I could say something that I might regret.
