I took Mon's hands and kissed them lovingly. I then held her cheeks and rested our foreheads together

S: Ready love? (I said in a soft whisper)

M: it's now or never (Mon answered me in an equally soft but firm whisper)

J: Ready, guys? ( Jim burst in with the most annoying shrill ever, which made me groan)

S: Can someone remind me why I'm friends with her again?

J: Obviously, because I'm the best, Sam!
You really lucked out, you know?
Enough with being a grumpy ass and get your butt out there whilst I'm still being nice

(Sam just glared at her. Quiet and intimidating. Jim may have felt like her life was endangered, so she quickly turned around and ran toward the door.
To this, Sam just sighed)

S: I really do question my good judgment sometimes because how could I even explain Jim?

M: You know you love her, babe
P'Jim has already done so much for us
Don't pretend that u hate her because you're too soft on her, Sam
She is a great friend, that's why you haven't killed her yet, hahaha (I laughed at her teasingly! Sam is really bad at pretending to be annoyed. She can't hide her fondness to p'Jim even if she wanted to)

S: Sigh, I hate that you're right! (Sam groaned again before smiling)
Let's go, Mon
It's game time!

(Hand in hand, Sam and I pressed on and continued walking despite the overwhelming flashes

This really isn't so bad, really
If there was one thing that I want to be thankful for, it's that the chaos has been kept at a minimum.

I guess the fact that we are in the center of Diversity, our home turf, kept the normally ruthless media, at the very least polite

At least they weren't hounding us this time around.
There were no shouts
No microphones are being shoved in our faces
No more crowding either which is nice coz you know, there's nothing better at ruining your day then a couple of mean and energetic strangers invading your comfort zone and stubbornly staying in it without a care in the world

I snickered at that thought as I imagined all of them as a moth to a flame
Going where the scoop leads them disregarding the consequences, and that was the perfect analogy since they didn't know how close they were from being fired and banned.

If I didn't comfort and begged Sam that night, these people would have been regretting their crude and distasteful behavior while packing.

It's funny how seeing them so calm now made my impression of them even worse. I guess them knowing that they will be going home with a scoop also helped calm them.

Anyway...

They patiently waited for us to go up the podium and even waited for the signal before they started their barrage of questions)

R1: Your Honorable. There had been a report from the palace advising that a decendant of the throne would be formally introduced to the public.

Have you already heard any news about this prior?

Can you tell us your thoughts about the sudden changes and what it would mean for the country?

(Sam just smiled.
Her smile, which previously was only reserved for business, was already on.

Poised and confident.
That's how anyone would describe my wife now.
And this is exactly how I always remembered Sam to be.

I smiled proudly.
Yes! That's my wife!
(I silently cheered Sam on!)
