As Ash stepped into the Santalune Gym, he was immediately greeted by a familiar voice. "Hey there, Ash! Long time no see!" Viola called out, her tone light and cheerful as always. She walked towards him with her camera slung over her shoulder, a bright smile on her face. "Here to challenge me once again?"

Ash grinned, his excitement bubbling over. "You bet! Let's do this, Viola."

She chuckled. "Well, since everyone has to redo the gyms for this special event, we're doing things a little differently. You can choose between a beginner battle or an advanced one."

Ash raised an eyebrow, momentarily confused. "Types?"

Viola nodded. "That's right. Beginners get a simpler match, but advanced battlers? They get a tougher challenge with tougher Pokémon."

Ash's grin widened. "You know what I'm choosing."

"Advanced battle it is!" Viola said, her eyes gleaming with excitement. "Let's head to the field and get this underway."

Once they reached the battlefield, both trainers took their positions on opposite sides. The referee stepped into place between them, his voice echoing through the gym.

"This will be a three-on-three battle! The challenger is allowed to make substitutions. Are both trainers ready?"

Ash and Viola nodded in sync, each holding a Pokéball in hand, eager to start the match.

Viola was the first to act, her voice ringing out with enthusiasm. "Masquerain, let's make this battle picture-perfect!"

The Pokéball burst open, and Masquerain materialized on the field, its wings fluttering elegantly as it hovered in the air, ready to strike.

Ash was quick to respond. "Tyranitar, this is your first-ever gym battle, but I know you've got this! I believe in you!" He threw his Pokéball, and in a flash of light, Tyranitar appeared, letting out a ground-shaking roar that echoed through the gym. The sight of Tyranitar's towering figure, its eyes locked on Masquerain, sent a ripple of excitement through the arena.

Both Pokémon stared each other down, ready for what was to come.

"Battle, begin!" the referee shouted, raising her arm.

"Alright, Masquerain, use Quiver Dance!" Viola called out, her voice sharp with focus. Masquerain soared into the air, spinning gracefully as a light aura surrounded it, raising its special attack, special defence and speed stats with every turn.

Ash narrowed his eyes. "Two can play that game! Tyranitar, use Dragon Dance!" A dark blue aura enveloped Tyranitar as it let out a powerful roar. Its attack and speed increased, its muscles bulging with new strength. The ground trembled under its feet.

"Masquerain, use Bug Buzz!" Viola commanded, her tone quick and confident.

"Tyranitar, counter with Stone Edge!" Ash shouted without hesitation.

The air filled with the eerie hum of Masquerain's Bug Buzz a wave of light green energy vibrating toward Tyranitar. Tyranitar slammed the ground, sending jagged stones flying forward. The attacks clashed midair, and the Stone Edge shredded through the Bug Buzz, continuing its path toward Masquerain.

"Quick, dodge it!" Viola called out urgently.

Masquerain swerved, narrowly avoiding the deadly barrage of rocks. But Ash was relentless.

"Keep up the pressure! Tyranitar, close in and use Dragon Claw!"

Tyranitar's boosted speed kicked in as it launched itself across the battlefield, its glowing claws slashing through the air. With a swift and devastating strike, Dragon Claw connected with Masquerain, sending it spiralling backward. The Bug-type struggled to regain balance, but it wasn't down yet.
