Wulfric and the others immediately rushed to Ash and Greninja, concern etched on their faces. Once they reached him, Gary quickly knelt down to check Ash's pulse and breathing. For a moment, the group held their breath in anxious silence. Finally, Gary let out a deep sigh of relief.

"He's still breathing," Gary confirmed, his voice steady but grim. "That bond phenomenon must have taken a serious toll on him."

"We need to get him to the Pokémon Centre—and Greninja too," Clemont said, his voice filled with urgency.

Paul and Gary carefully lifted Ash, making sure to support him as they carried him. Serena, her hands trembling slightly, reached for Ash's Pokéball. She gently returned Greninja, her heart aching as she watched the faint glow from the Pokéball.

"I'll come with you," Wulfric said, his tone solemn. "The gym can wait. This is more important."

"Thanks, Wulfric," Clemont said with a nod as they hurried toward the Pokémon Centre.

The journey to the Pokémon Centre felt like it stretched forever. When they finally arrived, Serena burst through the doors, her voice urgent and full of worry.

"Nurse Joy!" she called.

Nurse Joy immediately emerged from the back, her calm demeanor faltering slightly when she saw the unconscious Ash being carried in.

"What happened?" she asked, rushing toward them.

"He was in a battle with his Greninja," Serena explained, her voice shaky. "They pushed themselves too hard and collapsed."

Nurse Joy nodded, her expression serious. "Please, bring him to my examination room. And the Pokéball with Greninja too."

The group followed her, moving quickly but carefully as they laid Ash down on the bed in Nurse Joy's private treatment area. Serena handed over Greninja's Pokéball, clutching it tightly for just a moment before releasing it into Nurse Joy's hands.

"Will he be okay?" Serena asked, her voice trembling as she tried to hold back tears.

"I'll do my best," Nurse Joy said softly, her eyes full of determination. "But I've never dealt with anything quite like this. The bond between him and his Greninja is extraordinary, but it's also dangerous if overused. I don't know how long it will take for either of them to recover."

Serena's hands clutched the hem of her skirt as she nodded silently, her worry palpable.

"Let's give Nurse Joy some space," Clemont suggested gently.

Reluctantly, the group stepped out of the room, leaving Nurse Joy to begin her examination of Ash and Greninja. Serena lingered for just a moment longer, glancing back at Ash's unconscious form before following the others.

The group settled into the lobby chairs, the tension thick in the air. Wulfric, his arms crossed as he leaned forward, broke the silence. "This isn't the first time this has happened, is it?"

Clemont shook his head gravely. "No, it's not. The first time Ash travelled around Kalos, he experienced this same problem with the original Ash-Greninja form."

Wulfric raised a brow. "But he managed to control that one. What's different now?"

"This new form," Clemont explained, adjusting his glasses, "is far more powerful. It's unlike anything we've seen before. From what I noticed, they haven't mastered it. The gold accents on Greninja were flickering throughout the battle. That's a clear sign there's still instability in maintaining such a high level of synchronization."

Gary chimed in thoughtfully, leaning back in his chair. "So, the original form required them to be in sync mentally. Could this enhanced form demand something even deeper—maybe emotional synchronization?"
