Aubrey~

It's a Sunday morning, my favorite day of the week, Game day, today we're facing Middlesbrough although I'm a little nervous, I'm super exited.

Its the first game back after the summer and I just can't wait to see all my teammates again. I mean we've obviously seen each other over the summer but its different when its game day, everyone is so excited, especially this year as at the end of the season there are going to be scouts trying to pick out one or two players from our school and the boys school to join AGS, which is the opportunity of a lifetime something that I really want and have wanted for years, I just hope they think that I'm good enough.

"Aubrey get your ass down the stairs now or you're gonna miss the game!" My Mum screamed upstairs.

"I'm coming, jeez relax mum" I replied while stampeding down the stairs.

"Oh and by the way, next time you shout up the stairs, tone it down a little I think the whole street heard you ma," I say while climbing into the car.

"I'm sorry Aubrey but you don't want to make a bad impression this year, it's scouting year, you've worked hard for this and I'm not letting what you've worked so hard for be taken away because your too busy faffing around!"

"Awh you do care about me" I reply sarcastically, she then hits me on the head with my boot bag as she speeds down the road trying to get me to the game on time.

"God I played so shit first half," I say angrily.

"No you didn't,  Aubrey you literally scored two goals, what are you on about" Kat said to me while trying to mess up my hair.

"I guess, but if I was a a little bit quicker on that last bit of play, I could've stopped the goal" I say furiously throwing my boots to the ground.

"Hey, don't get mad, you played great, your still winning, its only half time and you've got like a whole hour left."

"Forty five minutes actually" I say chirping up a bit.

"Alright then Mrs know it all, go have a drink and re-do that pony tail, because its a mess" she said giggling.

"Well whose fault is that thicko" I say as I start running after her.

She starts running away like a baby horse finding its feet for the first time.

Eventually I find her, we sit down on a bench and she redoes my hair, after the damage she did to it earlier, while I try scrape some dirt off my kit, but fail miserably and nothing comes off.

"There you two are, I've been looking everywhere for you, my Mum said, oh god I only washed that kit last night, what have you done to it?" my Mum grimaced.

"Sorry Mum, but that's football for ya."

"Good point, I guess I'll just have to wash it again tonight ready for the morning" she sighs sarcastically as she joins us on the little bench we had found further away from all the crowds.

"God, all the work you make me do."

"Alright I get it mum I'm a pain in the ass" I reply laughing.

"Yes, you are, but your mine and Kat's pain in the ass, isn't that right Kat?" she questions sarcastically.

"One hundred percent, a real fat pain up both of our asses Miss M."

Kat always calls Mum that and Mum always calls her Katniss, her full name, which she hates, but my Mum somehow is the only person allowed to call her that, probably because of the fact that she's like a second daughter to my Mum and a Mum to the two of us.

Kat's Mum died when she was eight, so its was just her brother and her Dad so when her Dad fell on the drink, her older brother Kai took her under his wing and so did we, so basically my Mum has three children.

I learnt at a young age that blood doesn't always make a family, what makes a family is those who stick around when things get tough, but that's just how its always been with me Kat, Kai and my Mum. Its obviously different now that were older and Kai moved to Uni, but were still as tight as anything and he comes and visits most weekends with the exception of today, because he had a big test, but he usually comes to see my games and  to see Kat's very odd form of cheerleading on the side of the pitch.

"Right come on, snap out of it hun we need to get you back onto that pitch", I heard Kat say as I slowly faded back into reality.

Around forty five minutes later and two more goals later I ran up to Kat and Mum ecstatic about our first win of the season.

Ten more minutes later we were in the car on our way to Barnies as tradition after any game, win or lose.

Me and Kat always ordered the same thing, a chicken wrap smothered in onions and every time we get it, it tastes better and better.

Once me, Mum and Kat had ordered, we sat down at our usual  table and everything was normal until, a loud group of boys around our age came storming in, after what had looked like another victorious win for what we recognised as mine and Kat's rival school football team.

There were two schools in Bishops, the boys school and the girls school, unfortunately the two schools are linked, not as one school but when we have a school dance or a sports day they're always held together, which is a pain in my ass, since the cocky Lewis Michaelson my sworn enemy is in my year, and due to the fact that both our last names start with 'M' we always end up sitting right near each other, and he always find a way to annoy me in the time that were their for whatever stupid reason.

God I hate him so much.

As me and Kat were silently praying that they wouldn't see us, our prayers were in fact not answered and a few boys were headed the direction of our table.
