The Flashback Continues.....

Prachi :

My heartbeat multiplied to thousand as I stepped out of the room, when I heard a knock on the door.

" My God you're looking so beautiful!!" one of Shruti's friend complimented me. I was wearing the red bridal lehenga and was having a veil on my face which was long enough to hide my real face from them.

They gave their own answers when I didn't replied for a few seconds.

"Yeah why will you reply to us now? Obviously it's a common compliment for you and now when you're going to marry the guy on whom we all had our crush in school." she said again.

I couldn't help but fisted my hands in veil, tightly holding the sides of the lehanga.
they took me down to the hall where everyone was waiting for the bride and when I come down. My heart almost stopped beating finding him standing there in the tradition look as a groom.

Despite of his outer divine and gorgeous look, his eyes were dettached from the world. the moment I came down to the hall, every eyes were on me but the most beautiful pair of those black eyes which took my heart away, didn't even care to look at me.

" I never knew that my would be daughter in law is so beautiful, let me take you to your Would be husband." Sonali aunty said to me holding my hand.

They all are thinking of me as Shruti, I wish I could tell them about the reality.

My heart twisted thinking about the deception I'm doing to the Shergil Family. these people have always considered me as the part of their family but here I am breaking their trust on me by marrying their son this way.

I was taken to the place where he was standing and I took a place beside him. when accidently my hand touched his, I noticed him getting startle and taking his hand away, clearly not wanting this alliance.

"The bride can put the garland on the groom now." the priest announced, Neelam aunty offered a platter on which the garland was kept. I took that Garland with my shivering hands.

He took a deep breath, when I put the garland on him, through my veil, I watched him closing his eyes in disappointment. Never in my life I have witnessed this form of him.

He was asked by the priest to do the same and He followed without bluntly. He opened his eyes which were glistening in the lights, without looking at the platter of garland or the bride, he silently took the garland and put that on me without any emotion. I heard his friends hooting and cheering him but this didn't made him smile at all.

We both sat in front of that sacred fire, while the priest was chanting the sacred words and vows of our wedding. I tried to sit a bit close to him and he shifted away from me not liking the touch of even my clothes to him. I can see that he is clearly forced and bounded to sit along with his bride to complete the wedding vows, and certainly he is very much oblivious of my presence beside him, that's not his fault at all, like everyone else, he too is thinking that he is getting married to Shruti.

After sometime the priest announced the ritual of giving bride's hand to groom for lifetime by the Bride's father. I saw Pranay uncle and Sonali aunty getting tensed when the priest called bride's father in front to complete the ritual.

"Actually, the bride has lost her father just a few days ago, so...." Sonali aunty was speaking but I got chills when I felt a very familiar hand on my head, which was covered under a red veil.

"I will do the ritual." My Papa came forward and said.

"Even I have two daughters, Prachi and Avni. Being a father to them, I have fatherly conern for Shruti as well. So I have decided to complete the ritual as her own father have done if he would be alive." papa said with a lump in his throat.
