Prachi :
So we were sitting in the cafe of the hospital, Dr Kushaal and Riddhima ordered coffee for themselves and I asked for the Tea, it has been 10 minutes since we are here and all this time Riddhima was continuesly talking to Dr. Kushaal about her cases and Dr. Kushaal was patiently listening to her with a smile on his face. I don't know why but I was kind of not liking the way Riddhima was so openly communicating with him and here I was just sitting silently without even uttering a word.
My eyes not ready to leave his face, I was trying harder and harder to concentrate on my cup of tea and not on him, but I could not stop myself from stealing glances at him.
His eyes, possesses the entire beauty of this world, and his lips that were curled into a smile were worth to die for.
Here I was somehow trying to control myself and in front of me he was sitting all oblivious of me, never for a micro-second he turned his eyes towards me. He was so indulge in hearing Riddhima's irrelevant talking.
I held my cup and ignorantly picked it up to take a sip of my tea but the cup slightly slipped from my hand, and a strong hand held it securely.
I looked at him and he turned his gaze towards me holding my cup with his hand. Riddhima was shocked as well. I was surprised by his speed, he prevented the hot tea to spill on my dress without even looking at me.
"Are you okay?" He asked gently and I could not utter a single word in his trance, so I just nodded.
He removed his hand from my cup and I touched it's corner to my lips.
I can feel his gaze on me which was hotter than the tea my lips were touching."Kushaal, did you studied Sharma uncle's case?" Riddhima initiated the conversation again.
"Yeah, I've gone through the major aspects of this case and for now I have got to know that Sharma uncle's case is quite different from the cases which I have dealt with."
"60 percent part of his heart is not generating any impulse which means it's not working, only 40 percent part is working and among that 40 percent as well, 20 percent part has blockage in it. means only remaining 20 percent we can label as healthy heart which is somehow keeping him alive." I heard his words and could not believe it.
My eyes were filled with tears, my heart captured by an unknown fear, tears threatening to come out of the brim of my eye, my thoughts going blank.
Dr. Kushaal looked at me with concern.
"Don't worry, I think I can do this. You just need to give me some time." He blessed me with his consoling words.
"But what are you going to do?" Riddhima asked with curosity and stress at the same time.
"I will implant a pace-maker below the 60percent non-working part of his heart which will give very small amount of electrical impulses to that part, which will force it to start beating, and I will remove the blockage of that 20 percent part and his whole heart will recover again." He replied.
"Are you sure it will be a successful surgery?" Riddhima was still talking on my behalf.
"The success rate is just 10 percent, but I will not back-off. I don't want to go behind that 90 percent risk, I want to stick to this 10 percent. I want to give it a chance and I will put my 100 percent skills in this operation, let's hope for the best." He ended his conversation on a good note and stood up.
"Why?" I asked as soon as he turned around to go.
He halted on his steps to turn to me and look straight in my eyes.
" Why are you doing this? I cannot afford your fees and if the success rate is so low, please drop this surgery. I don't want to lose my papa." Tears were rolling down my cheeks.
