"Do you remember me?" Mingyu looked like a happy puppy as soon as Lisa sat down next to him, to her left Jungkook took the centre of the table to finish his job as a griller and serve the food.
"You asked me the same question at the wedding," Lisa reminded him, "and I said yes," she repeated with her voice contained by a mix of amusement and nervousness.
These were the men who had stayed with Jungkook when she had left. Although they had just met at that time, they were the friends who stayed by Jungkook's side while the older ones expanded their horizons. They were there comforting him, taking care of him, also dating girls and taking him to parties that they would later post about on their social media accounts and have Lisa investigating their photos from a fake account. So no one but them had better reasons to hate her, like that damn unmentionable bitch, and that made her nervous.
Lisa hadn't thought that her husband inviting his friends also involved her interacting with them and their possible contempt. Yet here Mingyu was so excited that she could practically imagine his tail wagging like Bam's.
"Shit, sorry, I forgot," he wasn't embarrassed at all, letting out a laugh to himself.
"Stop flirting with Jungkook's wife," Jaehyun scolded from across the table. "Wasn't it enough to steal his grill?"
"He's doing what now?" Jungkook was on top of the situation at lightning speed, stopping cutting into the meat everyone was eagerly awaiting.
"Nothing, nothing," Jisoo waved her hand. "Hurry, hurry!"
"The baby is hungry, Jungkook," Lisa warned him seriously.
"I AM hungry," Jisoo remarked with a dramatic hand on her chest and furrowed eyebrows. With the weight gained from pregnancy, her face looked more adorable than ever. That was why her husband had the impulse to pat her head affectionately.
"Aren't we all?" Yoongi snorted, chin resting on his fist.
"Jeez, I didn't know a bunch of animals came to my house," Jungkook shook his head in mock disapproval, scissors in hand going back to work and enjoying the figurative smoke that began to rise from the ears of his furious, hungry, pregnant cousin.
"Let's not talk about animals when you have the face of a rabbit," Taehyung poked at him from the other end.
Unbothered, Jungkook didn't even look at him and served a generous portion to Jisoo first, of course. "I'm adorable. My wife says so all the time."
"He just made that up," Lisa clarified for everyone.
He smirked at her, "Do you think I don't hear you speaking to me when I'm 'asleep'?".
