The pool water glistened in the soft glow of the rising morning sun, rippling fleetingly at the edges. Jungkook pushed himself through powerful strokes, his body cutting through the water at a pace of controlled intensity. His breathing was labored and the muscles in his shoulders were starting to burn, but he needed this. Each stroke was a desperate attempt to burn off the restless energy that had kept him awake at night.
(a/n: giving swimmer jk here as an honest apologise for abandoning dm aka fantasies)
As a child, this had been his best relaxer when he'd felt restless at night, tossing and turning until dawn. The pool at his parents' house had been a safe place during his teenage years, and as an adult, the gym's pool had become his new friend after training. Now, thanks to his wife, he had his own pool, and it was great to be able to jump in without anyone questioning him about why he was swimming like he was trying to survive the Titanic.
When he reached one of the edges, he stopped and took a few seconds to catch his breath. His heart was racing in the only way that didn't make him want to vomit, which was after working out like a maniac. He pulled off his goggles and shook his head to get the water out of his ears.
Rubbing his face to get the water out of his eyelashes, he looked up and there she was.
Lisa was standing right there, her silhouette soft in the golden light. She was wearing a pair of tiny yellow summer pajamas, a cotton booty shorts and crop jacket set that he knew she had just put on because he had left her naked and fast asleep in bed after making love until she couldn't keep her eyes open. Somehow, she looked sexier this way.
Maybe it was the way her nipples poked the fabric, or the fact that he knew she had nothing under those clothes.
Barefoot, her posture was lazy and unhurried. Her hair, slightly messy from sleep, framed her swollen face in a way that felt unfairly beautiful. Her skin was glistening with the remains of a good, well-deserved night's rest.
Jungkook's throat tightened while a strange mix of desire and satisfaction washed over him. How could she look so effortlessly perfect, standing there with a glass of strawberry juice in one hand and the other lazily running through Bam's fur? His dog, of course, was basking in the attention, sprawled at her feet like a king content on his throne.
Lisa smiled and that soft, sleepy curve of her lips hit him harder than could be healthy. "Good morning," she greeted sweetly, and her voice was still tinged with the roughness of sleep.
