Inside Sheva's head
3:30 AMSheva found herself standing in a fog-drenched forest, the air void, but filled with an oppressive silence. The trees loomed, their twisted branches clawing at the red sky. An instinctual dread curling in her stomach.
"Hello?" she called out, the sound of her voice echoing against the void. It felt wrong, as if the forest itself was swallowing her words. She took a cautious step forward, her heart racing. "Is anyone there?"
A rustle in the underbrush sent her heart into a frenzy. She turned, sensing something lurking just beyond her sight. There was movement—something darting between the trees, too quick to catch a glimpse of. Panic surged within her. Her voice stronger now, though fear twisted her insides.
Then she heard it—a low, sinister laugh that sent shivers down her spine. It slithered through the trees, wrapping around her like a serpent.
"Oh Sheva." A voice purred, smooth and velvety, yet dripping with malice. "It's me, your father... Samael... I've been searching for you."
Sheva turned to run, her feet pounding against the forest floor, the damp earth sucking at her feet. Branches snagged at her, tearing bare skin as she sprinted deeper into the woods. The sound of his laughter followed her, echoing through the darkness like a twisted melody.
"Run all you want." He taunted, his voice weaving through the trees. "You can't escape your fate."
Beneath the surface of her fear, something ignited—defiance. Sheva pushed herself faster, adrenaline fueling her every step. "Get away from me!" She shouted, desperation clawing at her throat.
She glanced back, her heart pounding, and for a brief moment, she saw him—Samael, his figure cloaked in shadows, eyes glowing like embers in the night. He was closer than she expected, his presence a dark cloud that suffocated the air around her.
"Why do you fight?" He called, his tone mocking. "Your mother was the same way. If only she could see you now. Why you look just like her."
"No!" She screamed, pushing herself harder, branches whipping against her skin. She needed to find a way out. The forest felt endless, a labyrinth crafted from her worst nightmares.
Ahead, a flicker of light broke through the trees, casting a warm glow on the cold darkness surrounding her. Hope surged within her, propelling her forward. Determination hardening her resolve.
As Sheva lunged forward, she felt the ground shift ominously beneath her feet. Before she could register what was happening, a dark force surged from the shadows, tripping her legs out from under her. She hit the ground hard, gasping as the air was knocked from her lungs.
"No!" she cried out, scrambling to regain her footing. The laughter echoed through the trees, a chilling sound that sent a jolt of fear coursing through her veins.
"Did you really think you could escape me?" Samael's voice slithered through the air, dripping with mockery. He stepped out from the shadows, his eyes glinting with malice as he approached her. "You're not as quick as you think, little girl." And then she saw his form. He was beautiful, godlike and oh so furious.
Sheva pushed herself up, gritting her teeth against the pain shooting through her limbs. "I will not let you take me!" she shouted, her voice fierce despite the tremor of fear that lingered.
"Such spirit," Samael chuckled, a twisted smile spreading across his face. "But it's futile." He took a step closer, and in that moment, something inside her ignited—a spark of defiance.
With a surge of strength, Sheva lunged back to her feet, her anger fueling her as she faced him down. "You think you can control me? I won't be your puppet anymore!"
Samael's amusement faded, replaced by a flash of irritation. "How dare you defy me!" He spat, the air around him darkening with his fury. "You are just like your mother."
"I don't even know my mother."
"Because she sent you away, she hated you, and was so disgusted with you... she did what she had to do. I actually wanted you. Maybe be a little nicer to me. You'll need help raising my grand babies."
"There are no babies."
"Oh?" Just then Samael conjured up a big pregnant belly. At any moment it would bust.
"What are you doing." Sheva screamed, clutching the growing stomach.
"What did you think would happen?"
Suddenly Samael yanked thin air , and billions of half human half demonic babies sputtered out of Shevas birth canal. They began running around the forest floor, screaming."This ain't real." Sheva was bleeding out. You're just a monster."
"Oh?"
"Yes!"
Suddenly the babies disappeared, but she was still bleeding out.
In a moment of reckless courage, she charged at him, her body surging with energy as she unleashed a primal scream that resonated through the forest. The ground trembled beneath her feet, the power coursing through her. Leaving a trail of blood behind her.
"Stop it."
Samael, caught off guard, stumbled back, his eyes widening in surprise. "What is this?" He snarled, anger twisting his features. "You dare to challenge me?"
"Yes!" she shouted, channeling every ounce of strength she possessed. With a wave of her hand, she conjured a burst of energy that surged toward him, a blinding light that momentarily illuminated the darkness.
Samael recoiled, his expression shifting from anger to disbelief. "You think you can wield power against me?" If it went for me, you wouldn't have it! He snarled, his voice low and threatening. "You'll pay for this insolence!"
But Sheva pressed forward, the light radiating from her growing stronger.
The forest shook around them, branches snapping and leaves swirling from her forgotten energy.
Samael's face twisted in rage, the shadows around him thrumming with dark energy as he fought to regain control. "You're making a huge mistake!" He warned, his voice laced with fury.
With that, she focused on the light within her, drawing it up from the deepest part of her being. It surged forward, a brilliant burst that illuminated the forest and pushed back against the encroaching shadows.
For a moment, she felt invincible, the power coursing through her like a river of fire. But Samael's anger was palpable, and the shadows around him swirled violently, threatening to engulf her once more.
"I will not be so easily defeated!" he roared, darkness pouring from his hands like smoke. The ground beneath Sheva trembled as the two forces clashed, light against dark.
The ground shifted beneath her feet, and she stumbled, falling to her knees. She looked back, and Samael was there, closer than ever, his smile a twisted reflection of her own fear.
"Did you really think you could outrun your destiny?" He sneered, stepping through the shadows as if they parted for him. "You belong to me, Sheva. The sooner you accept that, the easier it will be."
"I'll never accept you!" she shouted, pushing herself back to her feet, every ounce of strength gathered within her. "You don't control me!"
"Such bravado." He said, tilting his head with amusement. " Did you learn that from the Winchester boy."
With a final burst of energy, she sprinted toward the light, her heart pounding in her chest. She could almost feel its pull, a powerful force beckoning her forward.
But just as she reached the edge of the light, Samael's laughter rang out, sharp and cruel. "You can't run from what's inside you, Sheva!"
The light flickered, dimming as shadows crept closer. Sheva hesitated, fear gnawing at her resolve. "I won't ever let you win." She whispered.
"Or so help me G-d."
"He ain't here princess. It's just you and me."
