They had arrived in Zero and in the days after delivering Ollie back to his mum and freeing the Keep of it's monster inhabitants, Chip enjoyed his down time down at the docks, sitting on crates and barrels.
He was reading his Bible and looking out to see, while dwelling in constant presence of the Lord.

He felt at peace like never before.
On one of those days a dolphin suddenly jumped up in the water next to him, dropping a letter on him. He tossed it two silver and waved as it swam away, before opening the letter.

Dear Chip,
this is Marie and I really hope you have a wonderful time with God so far.
The Lord put it on my heart to tell you about a time in my life where I learned that I was never truly alone in Gods presence.
Some days will feel like you're miles away from him and those will be the hardest days, but I promise you he will be there even when you don't feel like he is. Hold onto your faith even when it gets hard, because he holds onto you too even when it gets hard.
You're only truly alone when you loose the Lord, so keep reading the word on those days where his presence seems miles away, pray to him and cry with him and laugh with him still. He's there. I promise.

Let me know how your adventures are going!

With joy,
Marie

Chip folded the paper up and slid it into his Bible. "God, I don't know what she means, your presence is always so strong, how could it ever dwindle?", he asked quietly and then he opened the word again, adding softly, "I hope I can always be in your presence like this, let us never part ways and let me find peace in your presence always. Amen." "What men?", Ollie suddenly asked next to him as he climbed up the crates next to Chip, who helped him up with a smile.
"Amen. Something you say at the end of a prayer", Chip said and Ollie pulled up an eyebrow. "I never heard anyone say that", he replied and looked at the book, "What's that?" "It's a Bible, God's word" "Which God?" "The one true God, who made the heaven and the earth, who saved human kind from sin", he said with a warmth in his tone that made Ollie lean closer to the book in interest.

"I never heard of that" "Christianity was banned from Mana a few years ago", Chip replied and softly he added, "You know my mum was a christian back when it was legal from what I remember" "What was she like?" "I don't really remember, I became an orphan very early you know? So my memory is not the best, but I know she was warm and kind" "What did she look like?", Ollie asked and Chip teared up as a chuckle came from his throat. "She had long brown hair and dark eyes like mine. Maybe even darker. And she had the nicest smile a human can have, it lit up her whole face when she looked at me", he replied and wiped his tears, chuckling again, "Sorry" "You miss her", Ollie said and Chip nodded. "I do", he replied and felt Ollie hug him. "I missed my mum too, you know? I'm sure she missed you too" "I hope so, we'll try to find her once we depart from here"

He hugged Ollie back and then he sighed: "I don't even have to worry. God will make it right" "You talk about God like he's your friend", Ollie chuckled and Chip smiled. "He is", he replied, "He's my best friend, he always listens to me and he healed me too" "You can't be friends with a God" "I can. God doesn't want us Christians at his feet, scared of making mistakes. He knows we will make mistakes, but he loves us through all of it. He wants our hearts and a relationship that is strong so he can show us blessings and grace." "Why would anyone want to ban that?", Ollie asked and tilted his head to the side. Chip thought for a moment and looked down at the Bible, before looking back at Ollie. "Because it's the truth", he replied, "Because some people can't get themselves to stay on God's path, because it feels like its too hard and so they take the joy of the truth and the light from everyone else too. Evil turns people bitter, you know?"

"I kinda think I wanna be a christian", Oliver replied thoughtfully and Chip smiled, ruffling his hair. "You'd make a great one", he said and pulled him into side hug for a moment, "But from what I heard it's really dangerous in this day and age" "I'm born for danger", Ollie said determined, puffing out his chest bravely. "I love you, kid", Chip said with a chuckle and Ollie smiled. "I love you too", and then with his full attention and heart in it, he sat down criss cross applesauce right there looking at the Bible. "So what's this Bible thing? What is a christian? And who is this God even?", he asked and Chip began to teach him all he knew so far.
