Not Alone but Lonely Indeed

She was not alone,
She was lonely —
She knew many —
But none knew her heart.
She disguised she was happy,
But none tried to unravel.
She molded herself with everyone,
But none tried to mold themselves with her.
She tried to match their pace,
But none tried to match her.
She tried to seem okay when she wasn’t,
But they failed to understand.

She whispered her pain in silence,
But the noise of the world was too loud.
She reached out with a quiet hand,
But they brushed past her cloud.
She stood in a crowd of faces,
Yet, her soul remained unseen.
Not alone, but lonely indeed —
A story lost in between.
