What are you doing? — Lisa asked with narrowed eyes seeing Chaeyoung's laptop screen in the jobs section.
— Looking for a new job — Chaeyoung replied, typing frantically as she sipped her cup of coffee.
— What do you mean? You were fired?
— Not yet, but I'm sure it won't be long — she sighed, stopping typing.
— Oh my god, I should have known — Lisa exclaimed, holding her friend by the shoulders to get a better look at her. — What happened?
— Remember when I stayed late at the company?
— You'll have to be more specific — Lisa asked, confused. After all, there were few days when Chaeyoung didn't work overtime.
— Well, the thing is, I ended up seeing something I shouldn't have.
— What did you see?
— I saw Jisoo and Jennie kissing in the living room.
— Kissing? But I thought Jisoo was engaged, and that Jennie didn't feel the same way — Lisa said, astonished.
— Exactly, that's what I thought. But it seems we were wrong. At the time I was so scared that I ran away and dropped everything. I even ended up losing the watch that Alice gave me last Christmas — she showed her wrist where the object used to be. It was her favorite watch.
— That's why you were acting so strange — Lisa claimed, remembering the unusual behavior her friend had been showing in the last few days. It was no wonder after what she had seen.
— I didn't know how to react. Every time I saw one of them, I remembered that. I thought I could ignore it, after all, it wasn't my business. But I couldn't, you know I'm terrible at hiding things. They suspected, and ended up finding out that I knew.
— And now they're going to fire you because of this? That's ridiculous, they can't be that unprofessional! — Lisa shouted indignantly.
— It's not just that — Chaeyoung said, cutting off her friend's outburst. — Other things happened that make me want to quit, I don't know if I can continue working there after this.
— What other things? — Lisa asked, narrowing her eyes. Chaeyoung looked away embarrassed. She didn't know how to explain this to her friend. To be honest, she wouldn't know how to explain it to anyone. — You don't even need to tell me. I suspected it ever since I noticed you acting weird whenever you talked about those two. You got involved with one of them, right? That's why you're like this — the Thai woman said.
— Y—Yes — Chaeyoung stuttered, biting her tongue.
— It was the one at the nightclub, right? I felt the tension between you two, that talk of wanting you to stay at the party. Of course, that's why you were acting weird all weekend — Lisa concluded, but by Chaeyoung's silence she thought she had made a mistake. — What? Don't tell me it was that Jisoo girl?
— It was both of them, Lisa — Chaeyoung exclaimed nervously, making her friend open her mouth in shock, as if she had received the news of someone's death.
— Both? But how is that? At the same time? — Lisa asked, still surprised.
— Of course not — Chaeyoung denied, more embarrassed than ever, just for having considered that. — First it happened with Jennie at the nightclub. She played green, asked about my watch and followed me to the bathroom. With Jisoo it was yesterday at the office, I believe she also tried to find out if I had seen something, and provoked me — Chaeyoung said, bringing her fingers to her lips, remembering when she kissed the Kims. She could still feel the pressure of their mouths against hers.
