The silence was loud. Dominico moved the curtain aside to peek through the Pristal glass. I doubted he could see anything through it, but I wouldn’t put it past Dominico. He’d spot a bullet before it hit the glass. We settled for about three minutes approximately, waiting for refreshments from the bitch.
The sound of Vixen pouring Guarapo into glasses draws my attention from her wooden ceiling. “I can guarantee no one can find us here. Even if they do, they wouldn’t live to touch the nob.” She side-glances at Dominico, but he ignores her.
Vixen places a stained-glass cup before me before handing Dominico his drink. He doesn’t take it. She takes a large gulp before giving it to him. “You poisoned is the last thing on my list. Sasha is a close friend, and I would hate to see this little thing hurt.”
“Look who is speaking, Miss Therapist!” I watched her disgustingly. Do I look like a little thing to her? Do I look like Sasha’s toy?
“Oh, I have my degrees. Don’t get me wrong.” She finally managed to have Dominico take his cold drink before sitting at the broken table. “I was a therapist until I took my husband’s life.”
“And you feel so safe to tell me that?” I nearly choked on the beverage. Was nothing a secret nowadays? Vixen’s red-manicured fingers fiddled with the glass’ handle, and her eyes lowered to it. She didn’t blink as she continued.
“You’d do it too if you were me.” She looked up. “The mental, physical and verbal abuse had to stop. The authorities did nothing, so I took matters into my own hands. The constant texts from women telling me how fun my husband can be in bed whilst I wait for the bastard to enter my home. He didn’t hide it.”
“You could have left him,” I spoke through gritted teeth.
Vixen smirked slowly. She unzipped the top of her jacket and revealed a long scar across her heart. “You think I never tried?” She chuckled. “I did once, and when he found me, I stupidly returned in his deceitful arms. The second time almost cost me my life. The bastard shot me in the heart, and as if that wasn’t enough for him, he had the doctors save my life to torture me. You would do it, Victoria. You will do it, too.” I didn’t feel any pity for her. I hope she lived her life after the crime she committed, and I didn’t want to be a part of it.
“Where is the body, Vixen?”
“Demolished with acid. The bastard will never hurt me or fuck another woman again.” I gagged, not liking the presence of this woman. She was psychotic for someone with a degree in psychology.
“We shouldn’t have come here.” I grabbed my bag behind the chair and heard the cocking of guns. I slowly lifted my head at the scene. Vixen had her gun pointed at me and Dominic's on her. Do you see why I didn’t pity the bitch or like her aura? She was a menace to society.
“I don’t want to kill you, so sit.”
“You’re wasting my time with your sob story and have things to do after I report you.”
